Juries are usually not the brightest bulbs in the box. I remember watching a doc about Guy Paul Morin who went to trial TWICE for murdering Christine Jessop. They were interviewing this one fat chick who sat on the jury and she said, "I knew he was guilty because when he was testifying, he didn't make eye contact with the jury"

Juries are very very fallible and often rely on their instincts.

In Morin's case, the jury was made up of morons, but the cops and the crown were actively working to frame him since they "knew" he did it. There was evidence that cleared the poor son of a bitch, but they covered it up.

As much as these boxing day punks all deserve the death penalty, I don't believe in executing even them. No, they can sit in jail for the rest of their sorry lives.

Preferably that new Canadian Arctic jail were the cells are all heated to 45 degrees F.

I had just pulled into Midway Invader when these undercovers saw my Jamaica written on the back of my sweater as I was about to open the door to enter.

They called to me and told me they have to search me and my car because all of us carry guns and drugs. I just laughed and said go ahead and search me and my car, I dont care. They had no right to but I just let them have their fun since I cant be bothered to argue with any of them. You never know when you might get ROdneyed or get a beating like what happened. He asks what I do for a living. I just say. I certainly dont sell drugs. He says I didnt ask you that. That maybe true. I seen and dated a few but the ones I have dated in the past are all Polish except for one Romanian. Have seen Russian, Hungarian and Czech in the past as well but I still cant tell the difference. Maybe in 5 years time I will. I can certainly tell the difference between a Dane, a Norwegian and a Swede though since i lived and travelled n those countries extensively(that being Denmark, Norway and Sweden)

I just read this whole thread from start to finish and wow. What I thought was going to be some insight into this whole nasty tragic occurance was in fact a small regurgitation of what I've already seen on the news and a massive flame war among emotional reactionaries, shit disturbers, and truly ignorant racists.

All I can add is that I find it heartbreaking to see innocent people caught in the crossfire of a shootout that by all rights should only eliminate the people who engage in them.

Being a father of teenage daughters I certainly have a soft spot for innocent young blonde girls but objectively why are we programmed to view this loss as somehow more tragic than the loss of an innocent black person or a male or a middle-aged person?

No, Toronto did not just lose it's innocence. That happened probably back in the 1800's.

It's just that this one is showing us just how bad it's getting out there because these assholes are running around shooting and robbing and the legal system is more worried about their rights than ours. It's showing us that all the bleeding heart programs that are out there have done little good. It's showing us that these punks have absolutely no fear of the justice system.

A good friend of mine is a Trinidad native. He has lived here almost his entire life and doesn't have a lick of an accent, unless he wants to joke with it.
