69 Percent of Men Don’t Wash Their Hands After Using the Bathroom?!

By Amanda Arnold@aMandolinz

Well, here’s an incredibly not-nice statistic: Apparently, 69 percent of men don’t wash their hands after using a public bathroom.

At least, that’s according to 2009 studycited by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the institute’s online guide to the “corporate activity” of handwashing, a basic hygienic practice that’s receiving quite a bit of attention amid the rapid spread of coronavirus. In comparison, the same study found that 35 percent of women don’t wash their hands after using public bathroom — certainly not great, but not nearly as egregious.

Learning this statistic would be troubling at truly any point in modern times. Men, unfortunately, are everywhere: at your office, at restaurants, on the subway, and even in your homes. Now just think of everything they touch after grasping their urinating dicks, and then, in 69 percent of cases, simply exiting the bathroom: their keyboards, communal fridges, the button on the water machine, and perhaps even — and I’m so sorry — your hands. And we thought we were gross?

But this study is particularly alarming during the age of coronavirus. As public-health experts have stressed over the past few months, as the disease has rapidly spread across the world, regularly washing your hands (the right way) is the most effective way to protect yourself against COVID-19. Right now, in New York, there are 22 confirmed cases, and that number will surely rise. Ladies, watch where you’re putting your hands — a man’s dirty paws could’ve been there.

Not stunned by those numbers. I was at a restaurant the other day, taking care of business. Based on the clothes the other guy was wearing in the adjacent stall I know he worked in the kitchen. Think he washed his hands after taking a dump...

It is pretty gross. Guys piss and bail all the time in plain view. Just imagine how many dudes walk out after shitting when no-one is around. I'm the opposite as I probably wash my hands too much. We're all going to die.

A point that many have made which I will repeat. Spend a year or two cleaning bathrooms for a living, and you'll know the truth of this.

We wash our hands after using the wash room. But the problem is that if you are then opening the washroom door to exit, then you are no different from the guy who has not washed his hand and then opened the door to contaminate the handle. That is why I hold on to the wipes to use it to hold on to the handle when opening the door, and then dispose of it after I have exited, or just toss it into the bin, while I hold on to the door with my foot.

I always make sure to wash my hands before I go pee. Imagine all the germs you touch then you touch your cock and spread it all over. Then the girl gives you BJ, DFK and germ season all over. So no point in washing after if you are not washing before.

Well I can definitely say I'm not in that 69%. I don't think I've ever pissed and not washed my hands after. Even at home.

The problem is that many faucets you have to turn them to get the water to run . You just touched the faucet with your dirty hands and now you will turn the water off and touch the dirty faucet again . I always grab a tissue and use that to turn the water off.

I do the same with opening the door and I get a fresh tissue . Or if someone is leaving than I'll go behind the so I don't have to touch the handle .

What do you do when out in the bush camping or taking a walk in the bush . Every body pisses in the bushes when there is no washroom around . Many out houses don't have any running water either . I guess you can have a small bottle of hand sanitizer with you . I always have one in my truck .

Paulie walnuts couldn't be more wrong about women's washrooms if he tried.

When I was a kid in high school I had an after school job at a very large department store. I would come in at 5 pm and one of my first jobs was to clean the public washrooms. (It was character building.) I used to have an old beat up shopping cart filled with the tools of the trade and one of those tools was a square ended garden shovel. I used to use it to clean the women's washrooms. They (women) were absolute pigs. Guaranteed every shift there was a log of shit on the seat or floor or a used tampon. Piss everywhere. Makeup smeared all over.

The men's washroom was usually pretty clean.

Probably why I am not the kind of guy who puts women on a pedestal and is in complete awe of them. Too many visuals of the truth burned in the memory banks.

I'm getting big on not touching door handles lately.

Sadly I think some men just think I'm an ippity bitch who expects them to hold the door open. LOL

I do say thank you but I don't think it matters.

I try to avoid using public washroom at all cost. Thankfully I work from home, so this is achievable for me. Some public washrooms are so filthy that I will not touch anything and wash my hands later or somewhere else. Figure my freshly showered member is cleaner that the crap I have to touch to wash my hands. I am also a fan of using the paper towel to turn off the faucet and open the door.

Woman's washrooms are said to have several times the bacterial or pathogen levels on the door handles, facets, toilet seats then mens washrooms. Cleaners say that woman's washrooms are much more filthy and difficult to clean than mens rooms. There was a study on the TTC buses and trains with the handles and polls having measurable amounts of fecal matter and urine on them. Most people are healthy though and have good immune systems fortunately. We are often at the mercy of food handlers hand hygiene levels in food preparation too.
