I've had a Napolean for 8 years now , use it 4 times a week, even in winter, and have never had a problem. Even the electronic starter still works.

Great for fish as well as meat

Will trade my old Sheperd for your Napoleon with the good electronic starter?

I have the Weber Genisis, the one rated #1 by consumer reports.
It is excellent. I have used Napoleon and they don't compare to weber.
the only thing I would say is make sure they tray is clean to avoid fires.

The problem occurred when the user continued to run the bbq at maximum setting while there was a grease fire.

If you keep the bbq running while it is 'on fire', you probably shouldn't be operating an appliance to begin with.

I'd say it's more Darwinian than defect. :p
Actually the problem was noted by Consumer Reports while they were performing tests on a number of BBQ's. The tester was checking the drainage slot and liquid metal dripped out nearly hitting his hand, it was not a case of a purchaser doing something wrong. It is clearly a safety issue as Consumer Reports indicated that the problem occurred through normal use.

i did a fair amount of readings on bbq grill this summer, weber has consistent good reviews. Avoid the cheapest model is what people say though.

Had a weber long time ago, there was one time i had a guy that work at the grill at a restaurant and he said that is a great grill, although i managed to burn it down with years of abuse :p

All excellent advice guys thanks! I am definitely leaning towards the Weber Genesis E-320, I am also taking a serious look at Consumer Reports second choice Blue Ember Grill apparently manufactured by Fiesta which makes me nervous however it is loaded with great features and is 200 cheaper.

I believe that the Genesis was the recommended model from Consumer Reports on the CFTO report.

A B'Bque is just a heat source. A real B'Bque is over coals or wood. That being said, it all depends on your needs.

I agree with both points!

Awesome BBQ, and priced more affordably than some other options that didn't rate as high.

I once left it running with the lid closed to clean off the grill and started a small grease fire underneath. I shut off the propane and it went out quickly though.

Napoleon... :D
made in canada, (Barrie),
lifetime warranty,
uses charcoal or gas , or both at same time. (can't beat that combo)
heats to almost 700 degrees on natural gas, for amazing grill marks.
lid hinges in center so you can place it close to a wall.
