a/c question

Someone gave me a vertical window a/c
it is in the window very snug doesnt look like it is tilted
looks like there is a tray at the bottom (you cant take out)
water is not leaking out like a normal a/c
i can see it building up in tray and the fan sprays it out only from the top 10 vents and only on one side
i can hear to water moving around because of the fan blowing it
did i install correctly or does it have to be more tilted
but i cant figure out where the water would come out of anyways
please help

water comes out the back. it has to be tilted, if not eventually it will come in your house.

A slight tilt to the outside is best as this is where the condensation will drain. Turn it on and enjoy the cool air, you won't hurt anything, just keep an eye on where the water eventually comes out, as it will drain when full.

I have a Simplicity window AC unit (Model SAC5254DE). According to the manual: "Your unit is designed to evaporate condensation under normal conditions. However, under extreme humidity conditions, excess condensation may cause basepan to overflow to the outside."

Sounds like your unit may be of similar design. Just make sure the unit slopes slightly towards the outside (in case it does need to drip). Also, that way if it rains the rain water will run off the unit outside rather than inside.

Mine also makes all sorts of weird gurgly splattery noises. It did from the first time I used it and this will be the third or fourth summer I'll be using it.
