Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving. I love Sunday mornings for just relaxing and listening to great music while I sip my coffee (sometimes with Bailey's) and eat my breakfast.

another falsetto classic..from way deep in the vault
Wow I'm really feeling this one. Definitely from the vaults, I've never heard of this group at all.

How about a little Michael Wycoff. Early 80's jam "Looking Up to You". Reached #47 on the R&B charts. Produced by Leon Ware.

Sampled in 1994 by the duo Zhane. A classic 90's R&B banger.

"Hey Mr. DJ keep playing that song. All night. On and on and on...."

Not sure if this has been posted here before. It came across my feed in the past couple of days. The number of views struck me, this obviously got a following back in the day.

As soon as I heard this tune for the first time it brought me back to a young teen in 1987. Here's why

"Just Kissed My Baby" The Meters. Released in 1974.

Fast forward 13 years. Public Enemy's debut album which I still have the vinyl of.

"Timebomb"

From Donell Jones classic LP 'Where I Wanna Be' (1999). One of my absolute favorite albums of that decade. My top 3 as follows:

"This Luv"

"You Know What's Up" feat. Left Eye

"I Wanna Luv U"

i included this because The Stones covered many R&B, /Soul tunes...and i later went out and bought the originals...so a "soft spot " in my heart for The Stones

I love that about the Stones, it vaulted them up my list of favorite rock groups.
The Solomon Burke one is the original, correct? I actually preferred the Wilson Pickett version slightly.

and of course the obligatory, yes i still have this Album in my collection..lol
For me the clear winner is Wilson Pickett's version. I did think this Stones cover was better than the "If You Need Me" one.
