X amazing series of disco examples. Its sorta eye opening to me how disco has roots in the early Philly soul sound. I never put that link together despite having a huge affinity to the Philly soul sound created by Gamble, Huff, Bell etc. On another note were David Ruffin and Jimmy Ruffin related?

and perfectly beat-matching it...

That's what I do.
They played this one at the clubs sometimes back in the 90s just too change things up, the crowds loved it.
I kinda wish I grew up in the 70s to experience disco and funk.
But my father played this at home and in the car all the time.
You guys got me looking stuff up and here's one I remember.
So many remakes of this one, I had no idea about these two and even more so the original, wow!
The first version I heard was this one.
Such a good jam, Heavy D did it justice.
