I think this is his second murder trial.
He was found guilty of first degree murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment for that crime. This is the only consolation for the families of the other two victims that he was found not guilty of today.

Can Aaron Hernandez appeal the earlier guilty verdicts? Hope be can. Would love to see him back on the football field. He sure had game. One of the most versatile tight ends I have ever seen. Ran the ball out of the backfield very effectively when given the opportunity.

Yes, but him sitting in jail does little for my appetite to see him on the football field. Wish he could play some more and once he's done then go to jail for life.

It was shown in court as evidence that he tattooed his murders on his arm.

At least OJ waited until after he retired before going bat crazy.

You could watch the original The Longest Yard or its remake and picture AH as the tight end in the movie. Then go watch some gay porn as AH is probably finding out that "tight end, quarterback and receiver" have a whole different meaning in prison than in the NFL.

I wholeheartedly agree with your concept but I imagine that it would take a huuuge bubba for AH to continue being a tight end.

This verdict matters none because he was given life in jail with no possibility of parole.
So if I understand correctly, he's never getting out again

Perhaps, it does matter in the context of escaping the death penalty. He was fun to watch on the football field. What a waste of life.

Murders happened in Massachusetts, which doesnt have the DP.
Which begs the question, if he's never getting out then why even bother with the 2nd trail.

And I agree with you, huge waste of talent.
Sometimes I dont understand what people are thinking

I'm sure there are several valid reasons but:

If some evidence came out or there was a procedural issue, convicting him of a second one helps ensure that he stays in jail or

The family of the other murder victim could find some closure knowing his killer was convicted.

Your first argument is actually a very good one.

Your second one, less so
