.....can you explain to me why I should cry more for the 2200 innocent americans that died vs....oh say the genocide of over 1 million innocent people in the Congo (DRC) in the last 3 to 5 years.....that no one seems to care about since there is very little press on it (relatively speaking)

Regarding the genocide in DRC, formerly Zaire. I guess that cruel but the truths are,

a) There's no oil, only rough Diamonds. Diamonds aren't that critical to the industries and the west don't want to shed too much blood on commodities that worth the big bang for the bucks.

b) The people are colored. Now I know that's not PC but would the Americans care if they were white?

c) The country is in the middle the Jungle and it's cruel to say, even without genocide, the west are simply mortally afraid to deal with the country where the HIV/AIDS originates and don't forget the Ebola virus.

..in this day and age with the masses of the world who can turn oin a TV and see how we live, they will never accept Colinization unless the West used truly Barbaric means. Now we try and do it through Economic Colonialism. Own all the major asseets and if the population starts pissing us off, move the Capital out.If the US turns down that road to Imperial Power, its just not the Middle East that will erupt. It seems sometimes the press focuses on certain groups and tells us who to feel sorry for.
