Why is it you can go months even years without having your addiction. Its easier with the passage of time. The first 21 days are hard. After 66 days its a new habit but if you relapse you go on a binge of this activity that can go on for awhile until you decide to begin this whole process again. If you are even able

Addiction IMHO is born from childhood related action and trauma. Look to your childhood. See a qualified therapist. I wish for you another 24. All the best.

Takes a while for your head to adjust. I challenged myself to not drink Pepsi again and it's been 30 days so far with ZERO sodas. Used to drink 3L a day.

The only one I had and beat was cigars. Took a few tries. went 8 months without one a couple of years ago. Was Jonesing for one so I broke down and smoked it on my balcony down to the nub. Was as good as heroine. I imagine. But the fear of throat cancer won out and I quit for good. I hope. Whenever I see somebody smoking one now I immediately think they are sucking on throat cancer or black lungs. Fairly clear mental image.

I went a while without drinking beer and felt fantastic. I noticeably performed even better at work and better at sports. I was on fire until I wasn't. Then one day, shit got me way down and I had a few beers. I got creative and did some cool things. It felt soooo good. Now I'm cycling again.

It is a fight with your mind. Tough to beat your mind.

How do you define addiction? When I think of addictions, sodas don't really come to mind. What's the difference between an outright addiction and just a bad habit???
