To the contrary, Trump does give a shit. About himself. And what people think of him. And little else. FFS, even when he says how hot his daughter is, he has to make it about himself by saying that if she weren't his daughter, he'd probably be dating her. Everything he says always seems to come back to relate to him.
There is no better example of a narcissist than Trump. And he "trumps" that by being a sociopathic manipulator. And a fucking good one at that!
I read his book "The Art of the Deal" when it came out decades ago. I had a business associate who worshipped Trump. I wanted to learn about this fantastic deal maker. So I read his book. I got through it but by the end I couldn't stand the guy. The business associate had the same "deal making" strategy as Trump. I do not do business that way and I decided not to do any business with him after all. (Good thing as he has about as chequered history of Trump when it comes to grinding down people after they have done to work, not paying trades, bankruptcies and lawsuits by and against him)
I have great admiration for those who achieve success in life. And I loathe those who seek celebrity. And I am very attuned to those who know how to manipulate people.
Trump is all those things and I don;;t believe for a moment that he really cares about anything except how people view him.
Agreed, Bill Maher is brilliantly funny!
But I think he is just simply harshly critical of Trump and delivers his message with skilful, intelligent humour.
Baldwin's SNL Trump character is more parody. IMO.
Not all types of humour resonate with everyone. Some loved Letterman, others Leno. Craig Ferguson is hilarious to some and weird to others.

I found Baldwin's act funny. He is exaggerating the mannerisms and the stupidity , but that is a tool of the satirist.... to take it to ridiculous levels. Believe me most Trump haters find it hilarious, and Trump lovers are pissed. Trump himself is pissed and tweeting feverishly about SNL and the cast of Hamilton. Too bad he is not as annoyed by the white supremicists who use him to promote their hate.
Trump went in saying absolutely anything to get publicity and he took that publicity all the way to the White House. We have no idea what he will do, and that is scary!
I doubt very much that he will last 4 years.
So many things can happen. I wouldn't be surprised that something petty brings him down before he can do real damage. Maybe someone will say something disparaging about him and he will overreact and instead of a 3AM Tweet, he will use the powers of his Office to order some sort of action against that person. Someone along the chain of command will blow the whistle and he''ll get impeached.
Remember... the Republican party and most Republicans don't like him. There are lots of people within his own party that will be just waiting to ambush him the moment they can nail him.
I don't think Trump supporters care in the least. Everybody loves a good laugh. Trump is the President after all - which means he has already gotten the last laugh on anybody that mocked him.
Trump is no stranger to controversy, being mocked, and is actually extremely self-deprecating. This has been his life since the 80s. He has tremendous self-awareness and isn't afraid to have people take shots directly at him (did you see his roast on Comeday Central? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nf5BKAS5o6A it was hilarious), let alone SNL.
Maybe in Brezhnev's time that might have raised eyebrows, but nowadays nobody would be Russian to be Putin him in jail.
Yeah me too! But sometimes I get so lost in the moment that I carelessly end singing a few words from the Greek national anthem. Always catches the audience by surprise!
