Alright due to the success of last year's thread and knowing how many of you guys are insane about this awesome sport as much as I am, here we go again :)

I will start, ohhh Reina, you almost had it, a valiant effort by 10 man Liverpool on a red card decision that seemed dodgy at best.

You can probably guess where I stand on this but I thought the second yellow on Kos(?) was harsher, didn't seem intentional, well certainly not as intentional as N'Gog's, which wasn't booked.

Karma bit Reina in the ass for setting up Fabregas to have the Barca shirt pulled over him.

Mascherano would be missed but Poulsen along with Lucas are both solid players, also you really cannot keep a guy who simply doesnt want to play with Liverpool any more. I just hope he enjoys riding the pine at Barca.

This thread should be called "All Things Football", I was about to do that but I didn't want to steal Scouser1's thunder. Shit, I probably would have called it "All Things Calcio".

Btw did AQ start against Arsenal? Montolivo is a flop at the Azzurri level and his place is ripe for the taking - if AQ can stay healthy.

Aren't we getting ahead of ourselves...real football doesn't begin for another two weeks.;)

You’re not referring to that silly game where Americans wear more padding than the Michelin Man, takes 3 hours to play a game with four 15 minute quarters, and the participants spend more time falling down that upright? The damn ball rarely touches a foot ;)

Go Burnley, with any luck we’ll be back in the Prem next year. LMFAO.

believe me I wanted to call it using its proper name, football, futbol, calcio, voetbal.. but then the slack jawed yokels would have come out of their trailers in Keswick and strip malls in Scarborough to hijack this thread.

real football began on Saturday, its all about the EPL mate, but seriously how awesome it is we have modern technology that we can watch, listen and discuss the greatest sport of all.

Young Boys 3-Spurs 2 :D

looks like Tottenham's CL adventure might come to an abrupt end hehee, I recall when the draw was made and they were dancing in the streets of north London at avoiding the prospects of a match up with the likes of Sampadoria or Ajax, how is that looking now Spurs fans?

Almost like when we said our group stage would be easy. English folks never learn. Still have 2 away goals heading home though.

thats the lunacy of the English media that started announcing how they were gonna walk through the group before any ball was even kicked. The vast majority of English supporters are smart enough to know that outside of Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney and Ferdinand who was injured, their national team was made up of above average players at best.

All Young Boys need to do is get themselves a nice draw at White Hart Lane, and the pretenders to the throne of 4th place will be exposed for what they are, a joke club with visions of grandeur.

Only difference being: it's all about La Liga, where real futbol is played.

One day, the English will learn...

Flawed theroy. If you recall in that Youtube clip, UEFA Douchebag Platini didn't want a rematch with Chelsea & Man U in the CL final.
So that Sweedish meatball ref, calls at least 2 non-penalties that Chelsea shouldv'e clearly had.

So in end the end, Real Futbol is played in England and the rest of Europe is Corrupt. Hehe...

lets not turn this into an EPL vs La Liga vs Serie A argument, for me they are like cake and pie, both different but still great. Also as a Chelsea hater, I never get tired of seeing that video hehehe.

Fair but useless since he's retired from International duty. He said he laughed so hard when he heard he was banned.
Oh, I though the ban was in general....officially he propably laughed to keep up bravado. But I doubt he can be happy with that

Why would he care? He never planned to play for France again. And knowing Anelka and his history, I'm pretty sure he doesn't care
the ban was complete nonsense but thats the French national football program for ya, where a coach can keep his job after embarrasing results keep accumulating. Anelka has always been a million dollar talent with a 2 cent brain, has played great wherever he has been but eventually wore out his welcome, ask Liverpool, Fenerbahce, Bolton and PSG fans. But suprisingly his time at Chelsea has been quiet.

So let's see, there are four live televised EPL games on Saturday...great...but they are on 4 different FRACKING channels, wtf.
Stoke-Spurs Setanta
Arsenal-Blackpool TSN2
WHam-Bolton Sportsnet
Wigan-Chelsea Sportsnet One

If you are a footie fan and also have GOLTV and Fox Sportsworld... this is riduculous.

It wouldn't be so bad until you consider that Rogers effectively own Setanta.

Rant over, I may be going to internet streaming

Arsenal, Real Madrid, Man City etc. However, no complaints as an Arsenal fan, one year, 20mil GBP profit used to build state of the art training ground.
