Serbs are so cute even Becks stands in their shadow.

I could get into the love/hate relationship between Italians and South Slavs but that would bore everyone. Serbia's Ultras going Arkan cost their team a possible 3 points; with De Rossi and Antonelli injured the Azzurri were going to struggle.

Tom Hicks has stated that Rafa Benitez cost him Liverpool; I tend to agree with him. In the recent Derby d'Italia, he nearly gave the match to Juve by assigning Christian Chivu to mark Milos Krasic. The Serbian Nedved nutmeged and roasted him repeatedly before Benitez ended his misery by substituting him with Davide Santon. I'm willing to bet that Benitez will start Chivu again on Sunday.

Did they ever blow it in the EPL! Nigel de Jong gives Hatem ben Arfa a Paolo Rossi and gets away with it; Darren Fletcher's scissor tackle on Iniesta wasn't nearlly as flagrant yet Rosetti made him see red. For a supposedly world-class league this is a bush decision on the part of the FA.

I find it very interesting that Serie A still has a very bad hooligan problem, yet you never hear about Azzuri fans causing trouble elsewhere, unlike some of the East Euro teams whose behaviour against for example black English players has been absolutely disgusting.

Sure Rafa can be blamed for some of the buys he made that havent worked out (yeah Babel I am looking at you) but it's Hicks and Gillette's arrogance and treatment of the team and their supporters that lead to their downfall. Hicks in a Wall Street Journal interview back in 2007 boasting about how buying LFC will be his most profitable business venture, or describing supporters as "background noise we have to deal with". These 2 losers didnt have a clue what they were getting into, that they were buying much more than a football club, but a social institution. I am absolutely ecstatic that they stand to lose millions of dollars as its totally deserved, that LFC has finally gotten rid of them and been bought by an organization, New England Sports Venture who have proven to be winners.

FIFA Boards members under investigation for asking for bribes for their vote in consideration for hosting 2018 and 2022. The Nigerian Rep was taped asking for $8800,00 and the Tahitian Rep asking for £1.5 million.

Say it ain't so.

I think it's money related. His contract runs out in 2012 and is negotiating a big raise. However with all his shagging around he might be looking for a clean start elsewhere, who knows. There aren't too many teams that can afford the transfer fee plus his salary. So I guess it's the usual suspects that you identified. Can't see Rooney learning Spanish and can't see SAF selling to City, so I am guessing Chelses if he actually leaves. Lotsa Granny Hookers in London, he would be in heaven.

There is some speculation that by Rooney signing this contract, it will just drive up his price in the summer as opposed to being 12 months away and they'd get far less money. I ultimately think he stays.

It appears that Becks is right, Macheda didn't cover himself with roses against Wolves.

He looks way out of sorts, to make matters worse he didn't produce for the under-21 and has been criticised for his cockiness by the Italian press. Maybe a move back to Lazio could be just the tonic he needs. I hope, when he gets back to match fitness, Mario Balotelli doesn't shit the bed as well.

Well Balotelli looked ordinary on Saturday against Wolves. Obviously he needs to get his form back after a long layoff with his injury. But if he doesn't turn it around fast the British press will be all over him in a hurry and he may regret the move.

It good news, I'm glad UEFA took swift action against Serbia and award Italy the 3-0 win.

Lazio commando del'la classifica.

Although young phenom Hernanes is getting most of the accolades, praise must be given to coach Edy Reja and goalkeeper Nestor Muslera.

Edy Reja guided Napoli from the depth of Serie B to the upper mid-table of Serie A. As is reward he was canned by interfering owner Aurelio de Laurentis (cousin of Giada). He moves to Lazio and in his second year has them four points clear of the Northern Giants.

Nestor Muslera is continuing the inspired goaltending he demonstrated in South Africa for Uruguay. I sincerely hope that Lazio will be able to keep him, it's only a matter of time before ManUnited, Arsenal and Milan come calling.

Milan 1 Juventus 2

I wonder how much Juve will have to pony up to Liverpool for AQ. He is now fit and playing up to expectations.

if the fascist side of Rome wins the scudetto I will never watch Serie A or take it seriously ever again. Lazio and its supporters represent the worst of Italian football and society in general, the club has allowed the ultras to run things without any retribution. Banners praising Mussolini and Arkan along with making monkey noises while black players touch the ball, absolutely despicable.

That isn't entirely true anymore, owner Claudio Lotito has moved decisively to marginalize the fasci element. Angolan Luis Cavanda has come up through the Lazio youth system, he was having a breakout year before injury took him down.If he continues at his current form he could be as good as Maicon. Paolo Di Canio isn't making any noises either, these days he's more concerned with the plight of West Ham. Hopefully the change is permanent.

Materazzi comes in high, Ibra sees it coming and sends him to the hospital.
Too bad that's as far as Ibra got. It would have been great to see him finish off the job.
