I respectuflly ask you to refrain from making comments without adding anything to the topic please.

Thank you

Seriously? I'm not sure what your problem is but you seem like a pretty pathetic soul to come on an escort board and bother 99% of the members. I'm sorry your "real" life is that pathetic and this isn't meant to be an attack on you but I'd like to get this thread back to topic.

I hope you get some help and do wish you well.

So first off, let's be honest. Android is a rip off of the Iphone, i'm not saying Android is horrible but I will call a spade a spade and it's a copy of the Iphone.
Let's be honest .. you came out waving the Apple propaganda flag that the beginning of smartphone was the iPhone and that all that came after was in God's (Apple's) image. So with this wildly incorrect premise - how can you possibly be surprised when Woodie and or other product zealots respond to the incorrect premise instead of your question regarding Android's future ?

Of course Andoid won't last for ever but nether will iO/S - at least in it's present form. As an oldie that has witnessed an electronics revolution, I have come to realize that nothing suddenly appears, it evolves from older technology. Maybe RIM could have lead but they stumbled and iPhone emerged. iPhones took all that was before it with a splash of new technology evolved into a unique product. iPhone has stumbled and now Android was taken all before it and evolved into a unique product (larger screen, widgets, NFC, open third party I/O (e.g. keyboard, players,), comprehensive file mgmnt capability, etc)

As technology and processing power increase - there will be more complex & efficient O/S that will build on Androids capability. It's evolution and it will continue.

Yay my friend I think you might have taken the my intentions not as pro Apple but my question of how Android will evolve. Just to be clear I don't actually own any Apple products nor have any long or short postions. I appreciate your imput but think you might have taken my original post the wrong way.

But I do stand by my statement, Android was a rip off. It is what it is.

No, just no.

Windows CE, Symbian, Palm OS and others all preceded iOS. I believe Symbian was the first to have downloadable apps, was the first real modern smartphone OS. Correct me if I'm wrong.

So here's my question (Sorry it took so long) with Android being open could that create a big problem for Android users as Samsung will develop their own version, HTC... etc... etc.

Would that not create a completely confusing environment in the Android market? From a developers perspective would that frustrate you from developing for different versions of Android?

Thanks for any input and happy new year everyone

No. Ever hear of Linux? There is more distros out there than most could care to memorize. But Linux works.

But only a very few dorks run Linux as an OS, it was developed to fill a void (Web Server) left open by a poor M$ product (NT).

Hello there,

I think this is where maybe someone who is an above average techie is confusing with the application of technology for the masses. I am aware of Linux but am also aware of the commercial difficulties it has had. As far as the Android market goes, you believe even if Google were to attempt to close the Android market to Motorola that would not be possible?

As for those other mobile OS, they were commercial flops, the look and feel of Android is a clear copy of the Iphone. Just my opinion but I had previously seen my friend's Iphone and when I first played around with my Android phone, it was clearly a copy.
