First time I seen this one. The question that always bogles my mind is - who falls for these scams anyway? I mean read this one... the guy is dying and wants to give you 10% of his money cause he has no one else to give it to. Yha... uh OK buddy sure.

Got this in my e-mail this morning:

<Quote>Hello My Friend.

As you read through my message, I do not want you to
feel pity or sorry for me, for I believe someday, somehow, we will all
surely die, this is about mine, and a last wish.

My name is Mr.Wylo
Wylos Jr, a Citizen of the Republic of Mauritius, I have cancer and it
is terminal, medical science can not do anything for me at this stage.
I believe in miracles because I believe in GOD, however I prefer to
pass on at this stage since I am bed ridden and in constant in. Having
known my condition I decided to entrust some fund I have ( USD 2
Million) deposited in Europe to either a philanthropic organization or
devoted individual that
will utilize this money the way I am going to
instructs.

10% of the money goes to you to ensure that you are
prepared for the task ahead, the balance 90% of this money will be used
in all sincerity to fund philanthropic organization, orphanages. I am
taking this decision because I don't have any child or devoted
relations whose behavior has left much to be desired and above all I
don't want a situation where this money will be used in an unGodly
manner, hence this bold decision. Since my health
is retrogressing by
the minute, you will have to send your; POSTAL ADDRESS, CONTACT PHONE
NUMBER AND FAX and a little details about yourself, because I got your
address from the Internet after a thorough search.

With the
information, I will make arrangement to prepare the Authorization
through an Attorney for you to get Possession of the Deposit. I will
give you the name and contact of the Deposit company where the money is
lodged in Europe thereafter, so you can claim the funds. Until I hear
from you, I pray that this letter bring you and your family good
tidings.

Reply via email address

God be with you.

Mr. Wylo
Wylos Jr <end Quote>

I always reply to those with a return email giving them the RCMP website, and copying the RCMP on the communication.

Miraculously, I never hear from them again.

Your place!!
Usually they ask you to send XXX amount of dollars to cover expenses and taxes etc. This one just wants to steal you Identity. They prey on older people who are confused about this type of thing.
Didn't they just bust a bunch of people in 5 countries over this type of Scam, thought I read something about it the other day.

This guy actually has some fun with them...

http://www.419eater.com/html/audio.htm

He makes them wait at the airport for him. Sends them on wild goose chases. Makes them take pictures of themselves with a funny placard. Pretends he is on the way to the bank (whilst on a cell phone) then pretends he gets hit by a car. The funniest thing is the fake names he uses and makes the scammer repeat his name over and over. There are recordings on the site that are hillarious.

I always send the email to the OPP and they send you this back...

That's the next step. He asks to reply to his e-mail. When somebody does reply odds are they will reply back with some hog wash story about why they need a deposit of some sort and ask you to send money.

The scam you read about in the paper yesterday was a telemarketing sham. They were selling useless business directories over the phone to American business. There are actually a few phone rooms around GTA doing this same thing. I was wondering when I read that why they only named one. Maybe only a matter of time till they get all the others.

What do they think people are stupid, That’s biggest horseshit I've ever read.LOL.As if people actually fall for things like that.

That's the sad part. I bet if they send say 10,000 of these e-mails. (I'm sure they send out a lot more) 100 people will reply.

NH why not hit him up for some advertising dollars?

Actually I was thinking of e-mailing him and asking if he would like us to write a story in the paper about his terrible predicament and how sad it is that he can't find anybody to help him with his last dying wishes the poor guy. :p

We asked 1,000 Toronto Sun readers if they wanted to be ripped off by phony Internet money scam schemes, and an overwhelming 93% said No!
