How naive.

Canadians, Europeans, and Arabs will still continue to bash the United States... just as in the time of Clinton.

Canadians show such hostility towards Americans, yet Americans consider us good friends. The Americans have a real identity, the only identity Canadians have is "not being American," and bashing Americans.

Its not Americans, its the policies of the government that needs to be revisited. The United States is the world leader and should do just that LEAD! Not take a stance of "the American way, or no way".

As a citizen of Canada and of the world I have a right to disagree or agree with foreign policy as dictated by a Super Power.

I have many American friends, more than I have fingers and toes, and they also disagree with the policies that tend to irk me and many others on this planet.

The US has often been lauded for their good work but should be held accountable when they do evil, you reap what you sow.

BTW, Sudan intervention does not mean war or invasion it means a policy and a presence with the conviction to correct the help situation. "Intervention" does not equate to "invasion", it may be too subtle for you to grasp but therein lies the problem.

there's a reason the US did not , and will not attack North Korea.

Why you ask? Because they have nukes. If they attack North Korea the results would be devastating as you can imagine.

Iraq was a growing threat. Saddam had every intention to resume his nuclear weapons program, so the sooner he got stopped the better. If Saddam got nukes it would be game over, you can't attack him, and many people would suffer from a nuclear winter.

That is why it is so important to deal with Iran. They are actively trying to get nukes, so it's necessary to deal with them either diplomatically or through military action if all other options fail, because Iran can and will use nuked on the United States, which will also affect Canadians, directly and indirectly.

I wouldn't say "only", but its certainly a fair description. I find it to be an embarrassing part of our national psyche. We need to grow up as a nation and stop defining ourselves in terms of what we aren't.

Revolution may be an idiot, but he's right about the vein of anti-Americanism that so colours our national discourse. He's also right that its not a Bush thing - just look that the "I Am Canadian" (which should have been titled "I Am Not American") ads which this country so cherished. Those were pre-Bush, pre-Iraq, pre-the open hostility that seems to have since emerged.

America is a great country that we are lucky to have as our neighbour.

That said, Revolution represents virtually every negative stereotype that people have around the world. How can anti-Americanism come as a surprise with such Tools as ambassadors?

Except that they can't, and won't.

"Having nukes" isn't the same as having a comprehensive ballistic missile program. Even North Korea, who are years ahead of Iran in that department, only has the capacity to reach Japan (which is obviously scary in of itself). ICBM's present entirely different structural and development challenges. That doesn't mean that the world should stand idly by while Iran embarks upon a nuclear development program, just that your concept of either Iran or pre-invasion Iraq presenting an imminent threat to the US is laughable.

Israel has nukes as a deterrant. If they didn't then all arab nations would mount an attack from all angles like in 1967 to destroy their nation.

The United States also has nukes. What's the difference between the US and Israel having nuked, and countries like Iraq, Iran, Syria etc. having nuked?

The answer is simple. The US and Israel would only use them in defence if nukes were launched at them, whereas those other nations would use them right away to try to destroy the US and Israel and/pr give them to terrorists. They are dictatorships, that have state sponsored terrorism, they can't be trusted with nukes.
