I have always felt Michael Moore was a pompous, self important, windbag. His "documentaries" are some of the most unsubtle, manipulative, overbearing pieces of tripe you will ever see. While I don't care for his work, I do respect the man for believing in what he does, and for having the smarts to use his films to spell out what he believes for people who can't figure things out for themselves.
Therefore, I was not surprised when he started in with his anti-war, anti-Bush tirade, at the Oscars. This act fit perfectly with all of the pompous, self important windbag behavior he has always demonstrated. I take this crap with a grain of salt--there will always be someone who will use an award show or some other high visibility forum to espouse their views.
At the end of the day, who cares? I always thought Michael Moore was a windbag, and that hasn't changed. I haven't changed my feelings about the war, about the French, or that the Catherine Zeta-Jones/Michael Douglas coupling is kind of creepy.
