I get around.
The Lower Don trail is fun and has some interesting branching paths; runs from almost the Lakeshore up to Sunnybrook park. Also, veering off to the east of it is Taylor Creek park.

For road riding I like to get out really early on weekend mornings and go around the zoo - not much traffic and some good rolling hills.

Anyone looking for a real challenge, or to get in some hard training: I recommend going down - and UP - Brimley Road south of Kingston Road about 5 or 6 times in a row.

Just don't try it on the weekend.
Rollerblades and families on the trail will drive you nuts.
There's some psychological thing that goes on, and people forget that their mountain bikes, hybrids and even road bikes can go off the paved path and ride on the grass to go around people, without shaking apart.

At Canadian Tire there is a bicycle headlight / taillight combo pack selling for $20. The same headlights and tail lights sell at the dollar store for $2 and $1 separately. Canadian Tire is selling the same stuff for 6 x the price.
Anyone who wants to do any sort of night riding, please ignore CC's post.

Good quality bike lights will set you back well over a hundred bucks. I use Dinotte bike lights and bought them for a relative. People constantly ask them what lights they are because they are so bright.

Along with Dinottes, I also have dynamo powered lights.

Dude,

If all you need is to be seen at night, the $20 CDN tire light pack will do fine. Or, as I suggested. these same lights are now at the dollar store for $3 total. You have no idea how they compare to your deluxe lights. You will have to agree that it is better to be seen than not. I think $3 is a good deal for LED headlights and a flashing back light. Certainly it is better than nothing.

Not all bike riders are the black pantygirddle type, you know.
