Will be going to Montreal on business and was wondering if anyone has good suggestions for quality golfing around there.

Thanks in advance.

Go to www.Torontogolfnuts.com. It is the TERB equivalent for golfers, and they are very helpful.
LOL, the second site I visit most often on a daily basis.

Daily fee courses in Montreal are much more reasonable than in Toronto. You can have a great time playing public tracks there too.

+1

If you are a member at a private club elsewhere, get your club president to write the president of Royal Montreal for a special favour. This is done quite often.

Funny stuff...

I only get to golf a dozen times a year, so it isn't worth it for me to join anywhere at this point in my life.

So public courses only.

The Falcon in Hudson, about 15 minutes north of the highway as you come back west to Toronto (was in the score top 100 a few years back - not sure if anymore). Will run about 75-80 with a cart.

Other then that if you are travelling back to Toronto there are some nice tracks around Kingston/Belleville area.

Smuggler's Glen in Gananoque
Timber Ridge in Brighton

Trillium Wood in Belleville is fairly good

Black Bear Ridge in Belleville is supposed to be quite good. A new course, seems a bit overpriced (not by Toronto standards) but in terms of what is available around there.

Most of the courses still left on the island are private except for a few down in the east end.
Good choices in Laval and on the south shore. Also just north of Laval in the lower Laurentians.
If you know where you'll be staying, I might be able to narrow it down a bit for you.

I don't mind Atlantide, its decent -- there is just nothing memorable about it - no hole that is memorable, in good but not great shape. The course doesn't have an identity if that makes any sense. Its not bad value, but if you can go a bit further I would suggest The Falcon over Atlantide.

I think those are the only two public courses I have played in close proximity to Montreal. My cousin does say there are some nice public courses near Laval, so maybe that is worth looking into.

I'll be staying Downtown, but willing to travel. We were thinking of the Laurentians for one round, and perhaps one on the way into Quebec.

Appreciate all the info so far.
