There's more to do in Vegas than strip clubs and escorts. if you're idea of a Vegas trip is hanging out at rippers and calling SPs every night, you got a lot to learn about Vegas. You can do that in any big city. That taxi ride isn't free.
You'll end up paying a cover charge at the strip club that the strip club will then pass on to the taxi driver. When you get in the taxi, the taxi driver may well "suggest" a club different from the one you want to go to (or if you ask him which club should you go to). That's the club that will pay him the largest "delivery fee".
Is Vegas as inexpensive as GTA, let alone Montreal? Hell, no! If you have the funds and an established relationship with a GTA provider who's open to it, I even suggest bringing along one of GTA's finest with you.
BUT: if you're in Vegas anywayt, if you have the money for personal entertainment, why the hell not? If you're looking to save money, Vegas is NOT the place to visit. If you're there on a business trip of some sort, I get it. But if you're going to Vegas for fun, SPEND THE DAMN MONEY AND HAVE SOME FUN. If you don't have the money, I seriously suggest a staycation in the GTA (if that's where you're located) and spend the money at home.
Vegas is for living BIG and enjoying yourself. If you're going to be worried about the difference between a $250/hr GTA SP and a $600/hr Vegas SP, then don't go to Vegas. You're not going to enjoy the trip. Penny pinching in Vegas is nonsensical.
Hit up the best restaurants. Go to the best shows. Yes, go to the strip clubs. Yes, call up an SP or two during your trip. Yes, go to the tables and learn how to play Pai Gow Poker.
As a general rule, if you're going to travel, TRAVEL. Don't be one of those people who goes overseas and only eats at McDonald's while they're there, because they're afraid of trying the local food.
If you don't have the money, it's your call. But my personal preference would be to save my money until I could live it up in Vegas properly instead of half assing the trip.
(And for what it's worth, Canadians have a pretty terrible reputation among casino dealers for tipping. Yes, you have a rep for being very value-oriented. Nothing wrong with that, but that's not what Vegas is for. Going to Vegas for value is like going to a Montreal strip club for the music selection.)
As for tipping dealers, why would I tip them? Most people lose at gambling, the house has an edge, so why would I contribute to that? if I lose, does the house give me money back?
It's like the shady taxis there. Why would I want to get longhauled? It's only an extra $5-10 if I don't tell the guy to take certain roads direct to the hotel, but it doesn't matter. Why would I want a taxi to rip me off $5-10?
Don't be a sucker in life.
