It seems to me a Hell Weekend course dumbed down to so an average Joe could do it yet be challenged mentally like a SEAL would change anyone's life. Any such thing exist?

Navy seal commander. If you want to change the world start by making your bed

These are the mud flats he talks about, the hardest part of hell week . 15 hours of freezing cold while instructors yell at you to quit

Here they are going into a state of hypothermia by walking into the cold ocean waters. A medical doctor is on hand to make sure they go to the edge of human endurance but not over . When the doctors decide they are on the edge they are allowed to warm up by a camp fire. After shivering stops they go back into the water . They do this over and over all night until sunrise. Sound like an excellent way to lose weight.

It's a great way to lose weight, but two issues. These guys are already in the peak physical state before they enter the SEAL training- the hell week is designed to weed out the weak minded. Hence the sleep deprivation and the cold water exposure. And. A hell weekend is not the way to go to lose weight. The time frame is too short, especially if the participants are in average/poor physical condition. Having gone through a military boot camp twice, I can say that it takes at least a week to break down the body and another ten days or so, to recover under strain. About 18 hours days, too. The change is remarkable, however, if one is properly motivated.

A weekend with your mother in-law? Mine couldn’t speak English and I still wanted to “ring the bell” after 1 day.

Here
There are boot camps that are very challenging but if your looking to loose weight thats not the way. I know they have weight spas in the US where you can spend a month on a program.

This might be what you're looking for

Sealfit Kokoro
https://sealfit.com/kokoro/
The most difficult training available to civilians, KOKORO (™) is the world’s premier training event for forging mental toughness.
In addition to highly motivated civilians, our rolls are filed with active duty military looking to refine or test their skills. Kokoro is also used by many as preparation prior to entering the famed BUDs as they attempt to earn their trident and become Navy SEALs.
Modeled after the US Navy SEALs crucible “Hell Week”, this 50+ hour training experience will push and pull you in ways you have never experienced.
KOKORO is not for everyone. The approximate 30% pass rate speaks volumes as to it’s authenticity.
Here's an article on a guy's experience

Also google 'navy seal civilian training camp' for more hits.

As others pointed out this is not the way to lose weight.

What is your fitness level?

I've been going to a mma gym and I thought I would lose weight. I feel and look leaner but I have gained weight through muscle mass.

Healthy weight loss is gradual think one or two pounds a week.

I find after a boxing class I feel pretty whipped. Is it anything near what those SEALs do? Absolutely not but you are pushed to the point where you leave with a runner's high.

Hate to say it but weight loss takes discipline and patience. There is no fast and easy way to 6 packs and keeping them.

I think popular SPs who see an endless stream of clients over a weekend have a more grueling time of it mentally and physically.
"OK soldier you are going to fuck an endless stream of ugly, fat old ladies." "Lick that fat ass and keep a sweet smile on your face soldier" "Pussy has that fishy smell? Dive in soldier and lap it up and tell her you love it." "Moan sweetly when she shoves her unmanicured finger up your ass" etc. etc.
Boot camp is for pussies.

lol

A hell week would be a fascinating way to test yourself. I am curious how I myself would fare in such a situation, but too chickenshit to try!

Appreciate the responses, esp some good tips on where to look.

But some have missed my idea. I am not looking to lose weight or get intobshape in a few days . What I want to learn is mental toughness. Once you learn nor how to give up in circumstances much tougher than everyday life, the world is your oyster . Every civy job is easy by comparison. At least that is what I hope to achieve in a Hell weekend but never having done it perhaps I am niave.

it does not only prepare you mentally and physically, but it also trains you to work as a team...a weak link can mean life and death of a seal(s). All traits very useful in ones everyday life

There is a place in the states where you can pay people to abuse you. It's like being in a horror movie. Lock you in the dark. Make you eat gross things. Put bugs all over you. Controversial because does signing that waiver let you do anything? Most people who try it crack.

I think the Armed Forces should allow civies into boot camp. My reasoning is it should be considered educational as it teaches you discipline and conditions you. We spend tax $ on some useless school courses yet something as educational as boot camp is only allowed to those who sign up. Boot camp offers much of what the OP is talking about: mental discipline, confidence, conditioning. A nice fallout for the forces is some of the civies would go into the forces after the taste of boot camp.

You have to keep in mind that Hellweek is not about teaching mental toughness, it’s about weeding out those who don’t have it. That’s why it’s not always the most muscular, fastest, or even physically fit candidate who makes it through (if mental toughness could be taught, these guys would be selected then taught). So it sounds like what you are looking for is a way to test yourself. So ignoring the team aspect (since it would be harder to arrange) maybe taking up some form of extreme sport or physical endeavour (something you’ve thought about but never done) is the answer. Something that requires endurance and long periods where you have to rely just on yourself and your own wits to make it through. Eg: rock climbing, multi day solo climbing/hiking, a long solo canoe trip, a marathon or Ironman. Or if you want to do something organized with a group then something like an Outward Bounds Course?

Btw: the Admiral in the OP wrote a book based upon the themes of that speech - “Making Your Bed”. Basically the theme is start off the day by completing one task (making your bed) with pride and discipline and move onto the next task and so on.
