Wow. You actually took the word of a Best Buy employee seriously? Do you go to Canadian Tire for car advice too?
LOL! Apple Store sales-people aren't that much better.
One told me Snow Leopard could be installed on any Intel PC.
Two others told me last month Mac has no Macs available with an i7 CPU. One of them DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT an i7 was!....:D

Sounds like the exception to the rule. ;)

That being said, I never understood why anyone takes the word of any salesman for any company without doing any critical thinking.

For example, Apple goes out and hires a marketing firm to survey consumers to find out which mp3 player they want for Christmas. One month later, this marketing firm comes back with the findings that 98% of consumers want an iPod. Apple goes ahead and issues a press release that 98% of consumers looking for a mp3 player want an iPod, solely based on research they paid for. I think most people would be highly skeptical of those claims.

I don't know why this logic suddenly goes out the window when some salesman is trying to sell you something. Whatever it is. Windows, Mac, iPod, Zune, PS3, Xbox 360, etc.

I will be the first to admit Apple store employees in Canada are glorified fan boys...

I'm running both Leopard and Snow Leopard, and I have not had the issues with Excel that you have mentioned, nor do I have any issues with my bank, once they decided to write for something other that IE. I find Snow Leopard stable.

Use the one that makes you happy.

I use both Mac and PC. Mac for work and communications (there's nothing wrong with Mail). PC for gaming. The Mac never crashes on me; the PC (Vista) does almost every day.
Your doing something wrong, I have had vista since about 3-4 months after its release and have never had my PC crash ONCE. Sure a program may hang occasionally but windows has never gone done in the almost 2 years I've had it now.

Why is it that apple fanboys are the first to blame software if they have an issue and the first to blame the OS if its a windows PC. Apple fanboys are blinded by their own love, so much so that apple charges ridiculous money for the same hardware.
