Question does wrapping an apple tag in foil stop it from broadcasting its location?

I read that it doesn't, anyone with experience in disabling an Apple tag?
Asking for a friend, really.

You need to make a faraday cage. You can buy Faraday bags Online. Under rare circumstances Tin foil might work. Not pointless To try if you have no choice.

To make a Faraday cage from tin foil, you will need a cardboard box or plastic container, a roll of aluminum foil, and some tape or glue. First, line the inside of the container with the foil, making sure to cover all surfaces including the top, bottom, and sides. Then, take additional pieces of foil and cover any seams or gaps in the lining to ensure that the cage is completely sealed. You can also add layers of foil if desired for extra protection. Once the cage is complete, test it by placing a small electronic device inside and attempting to send a signal to it. If the signal is blocked, the cage is working properly.

Wrapping an object in tin foil can be an effective way to block electromagnetic signals, such as radio waves and microwaves. This is because aluminum foil is a conductor of electricity, which means it can absorb and distribute electromagnetic energy. When an electromagnetic signal comes into contact with the surface of the foil, it causes the electrons in the aluminum to move, creating an opposing current that can cancel out the original signal.

However, the effectiveness of wrapping something in tin foil as a faraday cage depends on how well the aluminum foil is sealed around the object. Gaps or holes in the foil will allow signals to penetrate the cage. The thickness of the foil can also play a role in its effectiveness. Multiple layers of foil will provide better protection than a single layer. Additionally, the frequency of the signal and the distance between the signal source and the object being shielded will also affect the effectiveness of a faraday cage.

It's important to note that tin foil is not the same as aluminum foil, Tin foil is not as conductive as aluminum foil, so wrapping something in tin foil might not be as effective as wrapping it in aluminum foil.

This is a joke right?
I am looking for a serious response. Aluminum foil I was told is not enough.
Even if you triple wrapped it? Wtf.

I don't need friends with science skills.

My comment was about, you seriously need a Faraday cage to disable the apple tag? The simple solution would be to remove the battery no?

Why do you need to “disable” it? Why not just throw it away?

Uhhhhhhmmmmmm...maybe because he paid $40 for it to not lose his keys?

Sounds like a guy who just wants to block/disable it temporarily to interrupt while he goes somewhere his wife might not want to see him going.

I will say that everyone should get these for luggage. My bratling (my kid) went on a trip recently and her bag was lost. She was terribly upset and man do we wish we had one of those in her suitcase. It would have helped a lot.

Now I will not travel without one.

La la land
Here is some info - mainly some people are buying this for the their car FOB. There are wallet size

" This device that the thieves have been using is called a key fob code grabber. "

Quote below and see bold.

This is one of the few reputable companies I've seen, in that they quote military standards as their testing protocol and deal with government contracts and law enforcement. They also provide a phone app to at least show blockage of certain wavelengths, specifically Bluetooth, Cellular signals, and Wi-fi.

However, I'd recommend building a solid enclosure/box with the fabric in their 'Faraday supplies' category; a bag or other flexible container will eventually leak due to normal use, the material flexing constantly will develop micro-holes.

It's more work, but I'd rather spend a bit more and some effort on a solid box vs a flexible bag that, as per reviews, will possibly stop working after a few months simply because of constant flexing that is unavoidable. Personally I'm planning on lining some Hardigg cases with the stuff.

I have Secrid wallet. If I had a very expensive car with FOB I would get this or this other device to carry with.
