So many clouds and only seen small parts of the eclipse.
But was surprised how quickly it got dark and how quickly the sun light came back out.
I wonder about the temperature drop. I was inside.

Still a maybe. If there is an entity powerful enough to create our universe, it's way beyond human comprehension. Anyone who tells you "God says" or "God wants" is a total; fraud, that's all...
"Entity", a tiny bit better, but still not quite there. As for it being beyond human comprehension, it's within comprehension, "(something) created our Universe". 😂 Anyways, won't go back and forth about this, because we can, but it's exhausting like the other topic tied to it a lot, politics.

Nevermind, you know there a lot of people that looked up without any eye protection
After staring into the Sun for a few seconds, I now have a strange permanent half moon dark space in my vision.

Whats going on??

Talking a friend on the phone just now. he works in Hamilton and lives in Mississauga. It's taken him 1.5 hrs to go from Green and North Service rd in Hamilton to the QEW and North Shore exit at the Burlington/Hamilton border so far.

I did too. I pulled a Trump on that one. 😂

But in my defence the cloud cover did not necessitate the special glasses.

You are going blind of course! You need "Indian eyes" aka "people who are used to the sun eyes" to be looking at the sun. 😂.

PS: Joking. They are just after images and will clear up shortly.

I went to Burlington instead. Got partially sunny skies and saw the eclipse 100%.
The total eclipse lasted for about 1:15 minutes. Pretty damn awesome!!

I'll upload pics tomorrow
Same, I work there so I took a drive down to the waterfront. I couldn't get a good pic of the totality because of the clouds, but I caught it briefly on video.

I saw 85% solar eclipse in Montreal, March, 1970

The sky didn't get much darker; certainly less than 20%. We watched it through home-made eclipse glasses. I think we used three or four layers of plastic photographic negatives as eye protection, and that worked fine.
I remember my parents making a shoebox camera so we could watch it in southern Ontario. I was only five at the time, but I still remember what a neat experience it was.

Saw today's eclipse at work. Almost 2 minutes of totality. Lucked out with only a bit of high cloud, which didn't ruin things. Saw some pink prominences during totality and the diamond ring effect just as totality was ending.

Absolutely fascinating to experience in person.

Just west of Burlington. I got caught up at work and had to modify my original trip. I pulled off the highway and found a plaza. The clouds opened up and it was clear until totality started to occur. I saw one planet but right on cue a light misty cloud started to cover it. I could still get shots and took one photo of the darken neighborhood.

Think I made a mistake to stay in Toronto and think that that 1% would not have been that big of a deal. Looks like I missed out on totality. My only consolation was there was signfiicant cloud coverage and except for that 15 min in Hamilton (which would have been chancy anyway), there is no guarantee I would have seen that magical specatcular display that everyone's talking about. Hopefully I'll catch it in VR 360 degrees.

However, it was still an interesting experience as a partial eclipse in Toronto and it did get quite cold and dim. While it didn't have the punch, I think it at least whetted the appetite to want to experience the totality in VR (if a 360 degree video is available).

It was amazing.
Was watching the weather forecast in the morning and instead of driving to Niagra Drove 2 and 1/2 hours southwest and watch 3 mins of totality with clear blue skies from Long Point Prov Park The clouds cleared just in time for the solar eclipse

How were the crowds down in the park? I read there was a London family that tried to get a Niagara hotel room, but got caught off guard with the crazy high prices. They should have just gone to Long Point.
