Has anyone on the board used Ashley Madison to meet someone? If so, what has your experience been? Are there pitfalls? Did the experience meet with your expectations? I know the experience may vary from person to person, but I was just wondering.

I have been thinking of paying the fee and exploring its world.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

I used it in the past and had some sucess. I was on it towards the beginning so I didn't run into the fake profile problem that some have claimed.

Used AM, AFF, and PoF, with various degrees of success... Had some GREAT experiences off AM, but we're talking 5+ years ago.

As was mentioned - there's some good stuff on these sites, and some wackos, and a good number of fakes. It's time, patience, and "hit or miss"

I think one of the SPs (Riley?) mentioned that they pay $14/hr to put up fake profiles and pretend to be that person.
Is there a posting for this job??? I neeed work ;)

While working out of town for 18 months, I enrolled in AM. After about 5 months, I actually met someone. :) Although looks wise, she wasn't what I would typically be attracted to, she was a good person who really enjoyed sex. That was so different than what I was used to at home where I haven't had real sex with spouse in nearly 3 years. This person was sweet, horny, and intelligent. She became more emotionally attached than what either one of us expected. However, she's not crazy and wouldn't make things difficult for my homelife. I got to meet her kids, etc. and I'm hoping to get back there for a "job interview." We even added new meaning to the word "networking." She tried to break up with me about 5 times but we could never do it. Ever if we never had sex again, I would still consider her a friend. So, AM did work. I like AM's "pay as you go" model. Adult Friend Finder, on the other hand, is a joke if one is married. I make it clear on my profile that I'm married but I really thought I would have more connections than what I've gotten.

One question

How do you get so close to someone...that you meet the KIDS!! Arghhh

or were they in on the 'secret' with Mom??

Thats way too close for me man...worlds could collide.

Remember...no witnesses.....means NO WITNESSES!! :)

The site works ..
If you are decent looking ,
And with that, I'm done with those services. :( Decent looking? No. Passes for human? I guess.

I broke eHarmony.

But I just can't get past the opening line, much less the description.

I signed up for eHarmony and deleted my account within a week. Why? Because I was fucking swarmed by women looking for Mr. Right.

It got to the point where there was no fucking way to keep up with all the incoming traffic. I just started deleting messages based on the littlest thing that I didn't like. It certainly didn't help that I couldn't see photos.

There was no way I was going to pay them money for that.

it can work

AM can work. I met some nice ladies on there. Like anything else, there are also some nut cases, but who am I to talk? The pay as you go business model is good and effective. The nice part is, most of the women are after the same thing as you...perhaps a form of relationship that only includes sex and what's wrong with that? Be patient and give it a try.

I would give AM a shot but I'm too afraid of running into the psycho type. Therefore I prefer the pay them to go away model.
