If you are handing over the card in person during an appointment, how can that be a scam? If you are giving the codes however, then yes, it is a scan.Thats a scam bro 100%
Also, this is probably better thread for 411 section
Had a so-called escort ask me to buy a steamcard for the donation amount. Thought that was bizarre right from the get go.If you are handing over the card in person during an appointment, how can that be a scam? If you are giving the codes however, then yes, it is a scan.
I have encountered this as well. Definitely a scam tactic. Far as I can figure out, Steam cards aren’t even sold in Canada.i have encountered it a lot.
mostly with the scammer/fake providers that flood annonceintime.com
i have a lot of fun dragging them along through the scamming process.
they deserve a lot worse.
Ya I played along with one in NB for a while on a stop-over there ... they wanted me to buy a Visa card ...I have encountered this as well. Definitely a scam tactic. Far as I can figure out, Steam cards aren’t even sold in Canada.
They are still available. I still see them at some gas station convenience stores and at Walmart. Don't see them at shopper's or grocery stores tho.I have encountered this as well. Definitely a scam tactic. Far as I can figure out, Steam cards aren’t even sold in Canada.
Reasonably strong/decent resell market. That’s an odd scam. Why would they ask for a steam card of all things
They always as for pictures of the card with the code visable..100% scam all the time. The only situation that may not be a scam is providers asking for deposits, generally for outcalls. I still try and avoid that, and pay for uber etc instead, as some are scams and some are not and you can't tell in advance...If you are handing over the card in person during an appointment, how can that be a scam? Yes, it happened to me a while ago. The woman asked me to buy her a "vanilla card" and would not take cash. I thought it was strange and suspected a scam of some kind, so I did not proceed. I've only seen her ad one time since then, so I guess she hasn't been too successful.Had a so-called escort ask me to buy a steamcard for the donation amount. The situation didn't get that far, but yes - of course it would have ended up with the scammer demanding the card codes by phone or txt before meeting - using some pretext just for her "security" because she's all alone. If meeting face-face, people are happy to deal in cash - never been turned down yet.
Anyway, it was kind of amusing to string them along for awhile.
I was just curious if anyone else has encountered this con - new one on me.
