My only experience was in the King's Cross area of Sydney, which is where all the strip joints are. I don't remember the name of the place I went to, but I think they are all the same. The strip joints in Sydney double as brothels. Some girls strip only, some girls escort only, some girls do both. Lucky you is right! I was in Sydney twice, in 2001 and 2002. Many brothels there, just check one of the local papers, but can't remember which one. I'm a couple of years out of date when it comes to Sydney so I won't recommend specific places but I will make a couple of general comments.

As I tourist sight, you should walk though King's Cross. However, I would recommend you go somewhere else for SPs. It is very tacky. Usually they are strip joints on one level and the brothels on another level. Guys on the street will try to get you to come in (they also have girls working the streets). If you do go in to a strip joint, the brothel girls will take turns setting beside you to try to get your business so you will not be able to enjoy the show. When waitresses hear a North American accent they will start asking for tips (normally people don't tip down under and it is not expected).

If you have chance to stop in New Zealand, I would highly recommend it. I spent a few years there. I found the parlours much nicer, less tacky and less expensive. Moreover, in some cases they were very laid back. You could just go in for a drink and a game of pool and be under no pressure to "go through" as they say, unless you saw someone you were particularly interested in (I should note that not all parlours were like this).
