The bars and restaurants are packed on King Street West tonight, we will have over 1,000 cases soon and growing.
They’ve been like this for a while, although not as busy as pre COVID but still significantly busy, I was in Yorkville on a Wednesday night a couple of weeks back and I couldn’t tell there was a pandemic going on. Hence why the continuous increase in cases.

At least the owners will make lots of money tonight and the wait staff should make more tips only to save it cause who knows when they can get back to work again. For those people at those bars and restaurants tip generously. I got a hair cut today because who knows when hair salons will be forced to shut down too, so I left a generous tip.

I assume most of the members here have a high net worth and have a significant amount of savings. A 6 month or longer lockdown should not impact alot of us financially.
Then maybe you can shovel some of it my way. I must admit while these lockdowns are socially boring - it does save money.

They have no way to actually isolate and test for COVID, that's why the tests are bullshit. They amplify the test 30-40x and it creates so many false positives.

You need to get out more/farther. Rush hour St.Clair, Keele, and Jane busses are full to capacity- standing room, too. I have witnessed this on several occasions.
This is true. It is really at it's worst during rush hour.
In summer you were able to keep this confined space well ventilated by opening up some windows, but as it get's colder ..
It is an essential service though and many like myself who are essential workers use it to get to work.
It's also necessary for seniors, poorer folks and school kids to get around.
The government injected billions to allow municipalities to keep transit running.
Part of the budget should be for cleaning as the virus tends to stick around for a while on surfaces.
Who knows if they are cleaning reasonably often.
People should be staying home if they have no essential trips to make shop etc closer to home etc,
but there is only so much you can expect from a nostalgic, non disciplined, freedom entitled population who crave human interaction/attachment.
Terbites of all people should know about strong passions, lust of the flesh etc, especially as an avenue against covid related stress.:)

That's exactly what will happen, the same COVIDIOTS that caused Toronto and Peel region to be pushed back into phase 2 will cause York and Durham to also be pushed back into phase 2 or will cause full shutdowns. Although these COVIDIOTS will attempt to blame everyone else but themselves.
They will try to lay blame on the politicians for making the extremely hard decisions, the health professionals for making recommendations on preventive measures needed based on scientific datat but they won't look in the mirror to understand they are the cause of these rollbacks and are the one to blame.
I totally agree. Our govt did not learn anything from Europe. Look at the number in France, England and now Italy. Opening bars and nightclubs was a mistake as well as schools. I am sorry to say there are people who actually don't give a hoot. Economy will suffer greatly with further shutdowns in other regions. I would not be surprised stage II will be extended to other regions and timeline could be extended till next spring.

The schools are a huge problem and it will come out soon as the curve doesn't flatten. They are needed to babysit the kids so parents could work but as the kids start bringing it home numbers will keep increasing. I have noticed as I drove by schools the children playing outside without masks. Hugging, wrestling etc. normal kids play but also a perfect way for the virus to jump from host to host.

Quebec has shut down bars and restaurants but numbers are still rising.

I was in Montreal in July and people I met stated people(mostly young people) are not complying with wearing masks and social distancing and they expect to be in full lock down by fall. Keep in mind there are many flights going to Montreal from middle east on daily basis. 14 day quarantine are not being enforced at all in Canada.

Yes I mean so many false positive tests that we got so much room for improvement after all the rate of False positive test is a whopping 0.01% :ROFLMAO:
Actually it’s been estimated at 0.008%, so not even that high.

What is 0.008% of 40,000 tests?

It’s 320.

320 false positives IN ONE DAY doesn’t concern you?

LOL try again.
You're right it's 0.008%, or about 0.01% the official figure the Public Health Agency is providing from their studies is (specificity of >99.99%) which is 0.01% false positives, but you are fully wrong on the math as converting 0.008% to decimal it would mean 0.00008.
At 40,000 tests daily and a rate of 0.008% or a decimal of 0.00008 it would mean 3.2/day. No 3.2/day doesn't concern me, It's such a small and insignificant number.
Here is to hoping you understand the above as it's grade 5 math.

Why order of operations are you using?
I have to say you're even impressing me beyond my wildest imaginations :ROFLMAO:
I can't believe I have to explain this to you again. It's very simple but I'll do it in many different ways so you have choices

Option 1:
40,000 X 0.00008 = 3.2

Option 2:
40,000 X 0.008 = 320
But you still have to move the decimal point (from the % percentage 0.00) which you have to move 2 decimal points to the left giving you wait for it............3.2

Option 3:
If you can't get the answer from doing the simple math above take out your calculator or your phone and open the calculater app and enter the following

1. Enter 40,000 into your calculator
2. Press the / (that's the division sign)
3. Enter 0.008
4. Enter the % (that's the percentage sign)
5. Press = (that's the equal sign)
6. The answer you get should be 3.2
If you do it over again the answer will be the same.
At this point please practice refrain and do not throw your calculator or phone against the wall

Option 4:
If none of the above works in you getting 3.2 from 40,000 X 0.008% and you still do not understand why you have to take the above steps please watch the following video.

Any more questions should be directed at trained professionals.
