Hard to believe but the regular season for the baseball Leafs end this Sunday July 18th (against the Ottawa Fat Cats) right in the middle of Summer.

That's so they can get the post-season out of the way and the few college guys in the league can get back to school.

The Star reports the Leafs have a makeup game on Monday in Brantford.
Leafs defeated Brantford last night 2-1 in Brantford and last weekend at Christie 7-6.
Toronto is in first place.

How do the playoffs work in this league and how many weeks do the playoffs run?
I am not positive, but here is my best guess.

Eight of the nine make the playoffs, each series is best of seven.
I believe it wraps up around Labour Day.

It's a shame I won't be able to make any of their regular season games this year. Playoffs? That's a different story.

BEST baseball in town!!!!!!!!!!!!!These guys REALLY play the game.No $1,000,000 prima donna's ,no 8 buck hotdogs, 10 buck beers etc. OK the park they play in sucks CHRISTIE PITS now known as Dominico Field but the players play for the LOVE of the game. My two sons have played-play in the IBL one for 13 years although not in TO and I have been to most of their games over that time span although havent gone to Ottawa yet.

If they play at the same field as the Ottawa Lynx and Ottawa Rapidz did, it's a very nice stadium.
Agreed. It would be nice if the Jays could somehow work out a deal to move their Triple-A team up there in the future. It would most likely involve them buying an existing team and moving it for starters.

Yep...it's the same field known as Ottawa Stadium. Seats about 10K & has private suites. It would be good for the Jays AAA team.

Back in the late 80's early to mid 90's the Jays Class"A" Team was in St. Catherines at Merritton Park,Welland had a team Welland Tigers and Hamilton The Redbirds I remember when the IBL Hamilton Cardinals BEAT the Redbirds in an Ex game!!!!!!. Now all are gone now to US markets. London had a AA team at Labbat Park around the same time I believe.

Yes they did. Ellen Harrigan was the GM.

I've known her my whole life as a family friend/aunt. Lucky me, all kinds of Jay ticket treats growing up.

I was the man to be friends with in grade school. Lol.

Sure is a short season. Here in May gone by August 5th.
There is a reason for that. Many players in the ICL go to college in the US. Many of their camps and seasons start in September. Better to be done early than lose some good players in the playoffs.

Are any of these players MLB prospects?
Probably not. Maybe but I don't think so. But IMHO a free ride at Alabama for example is more important than playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs or Barrie Baycats.
