What a genius marketing plan! While watching the last Olympics I noticed that no other country has one symbol that defines them as much as the red maple leaf defines Canada. The buttons were bursting every time I saw one of our Olympians display the red maple leaf on their uniform. Now, if we can only get the same feeling for those who wear the blue maple leaf on their uniform.
I thought it would be a pic of a hot 51 year old. lol.
But yeah, Canada's flag has to be among the nicest flags out there. Both style, colour usage and uniqueness.
Most other flags in the world are boring and look alike. Check out the flags of Italy, Ireland, Hungary and Mexico. And I wouldn't surprised if I missed a few more that are similar.

Yes, I too thought this was about a grand, lovely 51 yr old escort, (being the same age..), but ok, lets not forget though, that the grand old flag, also referred to by some opponents from the era as `Pearson`s Dishrag`, was a creation of the Pearson Liberal government, (hence the over use of the colour red). But regardless, that was a political debate that happened long, long ago. Today is today. it has been OUR national symbol for over a half century now, and I proudly display it on the back of my car, or on my hat, where ever (in support of our Armed Forces), and yes, I do get emotional when seen it flown at the Olympics, or where ever. Happy birthday to the flag of the best country in the world!
