I have good experience with it. You'll need a clear sightline to the satellite low in the horizon to the south free of buildings and trees, they'll make sure of this when it's installed. Will your building allow dishes?
You'll need a separate receiver for each TV if there is more than one viewer in the household.
Otherwise the price is similar and the picture is nice and crisp except for when the odd storm causes it to lose the signal.

My building has replaced Rogers with Bell Expressview for Condo's about month ago. So far, I think I'd have prefered to stay with Rogers. But then I'm pissed becuse they didn't disclose the service differences and conflicts which meant they couldn't complete installation; and they didn't show for the second installtiion date and lied to me about it. First telling me there was no record of the apointment and then telling me the installer had run late and cut the appointment - and that it was my fault for asking for the 2:00-5:00 apointment window. And yesterday I found they were billing me for services I hadn't ordered saying "Well, it's such a good deal we thought you'd want it".

Plus I have problems with the picture sometimes cutting out, or images freezing or sectios of the picture becoming pixilated - you know like when interviews pixilate out faces to hide their faces.

So yeah, I think I'd rather have stayed with Rogers.

The ExpressVu for Condos is not always delivered by satellite but by VDSL service... wire or fiber into the buliding. In some of the systems there is problems and more pixilated video.

I have a model HD 6000, 3200, and a 3100 receivers fed by satellite and I'm very happy with it going on 5 years now. Started out with 2700 receivers in 2000.

I know I won't switch. The satellite technology is one way and so far behind two way technology. Okay, I'm addicted to TMN on demand. (You can watch movies anytime you want and you don't have to wait for scheduled showings) Satellite doesn't offer this. That being said, I know some people who are happy with satellite and others that don't like the channel options. To each their own.

some problems

I have had expressvu for almost 4 years. I have the 3100 receiver and have had problems in the past with 'missing' images....especially noticeable with sports, the motion appears jerky. The technical people were not much help, wanting to blame my installation, the cable length etc etc. But when they put a new sattelite up, and my signal strength went from around 80% up to nearly 100%, the problem went away. Overall picture quality is excellent, except sometimes during a thunderstorm. One annoying thing they do is download program schedule data at random times...your picture goes away for about 20 seconds while you watch this stupid message about downloading the schedule. Usually at a critical time in the movie you are watching!

I have had a lot of problems with Bell Express Vu, the signal always goes in any heavy rain or snow and often channels I subscribe to don't work. If I could do it again I would probably just stick with plain old cable.

If the landlord says okay. ;)
Overall, I don't see a compelling reason to switch unless you simply can't deal with Rogers but I'm happy with Expressvu.
They are a dream come true for anyone outside wired areas.

I hate Rogers so I think that anything is better. But there are some problems with satellite. I too experienced the jerky pictures especially during car races or hockey games but that does seem to have cleared up. The other problem is the sightlines. Mine was fine when first installed but because of growing trees I have had to have it moved (at my expense) and on a wind day will still get the odd quick disruption from blowing branches and may eventually have to go back to cable anyway. Storms will also affect reception but I also experienced cut wires with Rogers that took along time to repair as well. Bell customer service is not the greatest but is still far superior to what I experienced with Rogers.

Try Starchoice! They seem to have better srevice than Bell ExpressVu. I have had no problems with mine, and no nonsense with the messages and advertisements.

HELL (err Bell) sucks, i used to work at their head office Bell Mobility and TRUST ME, the absolute worst company to screw people over...even their own employees...5 workers quit in a one week span because Bell refused to correct their pay which they INTENTIONALLY did.
after that i looked for a new job then quit...couldn't believe the kind of bullshit they pull outside AND INSIDE....anything over bell is the better choice.

Never the safest place
Several years ago a guy told me the town of Aurora had a by-law against satellite dishes, unless you were in a rural location where cable was not available. I assume that was intended to prevent the much larger older type of dishes, and I don't know if they still have it.
