Linda Ronstadt (suffering from Parkinsons disease).
Actually she has progressive supranuclear palsy. It is similar to Parkinson's disease and is quite often misdiagnosed because of that. The only reason I know about it is because my father-in-law died from it and it took the doctors awhile to identify it.

Like Lauryn Hill, Beyonce sings naturally. Some here may disagree Ms Hill is a better singer than Adele.

She's 94 now, in her prime there was no better singer.

EVA CASSIDY- died of melanoma in 1996 at the tender age of 33

Relatively unknown during her lifetime but sold millions of albums after her death. Many of you probably have still not heard of her - prepare yourself to be stunned and moved and emotional after hearing her voice.

Someone please post the links [ teck retard here] for " over the rainbow" and " fields of gold " . Her songs can bring a tear to your eye even for hardened souls like myself, lol.

Dua Lipa has the advantage of being a contralto, in opera they are highly paid. In Pop/Rock contraltos do very well, Annie Lennox and Carly Simon are two examples.

She's also great eye candy.

Full agreement with Ronnie, Darlene, Etta, Candi, Aretha, and Carla.

I'm "Crazy" for Patsy Cline.

I would add Janis Joplin, Dionne Warwick, plus Shirley Alston Reeves of The Shirelles.

I guess thread is now best female vocalist of all time, now that "alive "is removed

The best was Karen Carpenter, perfect pitch, perfect tone, emoted the emotion of the song better than anyone, annunciated every word of lyrics perfectly (no need to look up the song's lyrics)
