hey, I'm desperately looking for the right leather jacket.

this is one of those questions in the GENERAL AREA, that is NOT STUPID. Here goes, please read.

I'm in dire need of help from fashion professionals, and i think that would include terbites and especially, SP's under this category, considering SP's primary job requirements is to dress for the job and especially, to look good. So, I figure alot of people in terb.com, especially SP's would know alot about this area, considering SP's are also girls, and girls often love to spend most of their time shopping and exploring clothing outlets, more so than I'd enjoy wasting my entire day looking around for a rare gem of a store...

sorry, to the point,

Does anyone in TERB and any of those adept avid high sophisticated fashion clothing shopping experts SP's who know where to get selectively hot pieces of clothing know where is a best place to shop for a nice leather JACKET?

I know that leather jackets, put together with other classy pieces, are chick-magnets, that can make a guy look exceptionally fine.

I'm not talking about anything overwhelmingly fancy or bizarre.

I've been to many leather jacket stores, except Danier Leather, NorthBound Leather (which only mostly specializes in leather apparel and fetish wear) and a few left, but the ones I did go to, were really not stocking what I had in mind, but more like cowboy leather jackets.

What I am looking for is less of the common plain black jacket that everyone wears, but I'd go for that too. I want a jacket that is for those nights out on the town, that is above average and very sophisticated and classy looking, specially for on a date to impress that girl.

Just the other day, I saw the PERFECT jacket...

it was blue and it didn't look freaky, but common, and it had two bands of white stripes on the sleeves, short cut jacket, meaning not too long, not past the ass, unlike those long bounty hunter leather jackets..

On that day, at that mall, I saw the PERFECT jacket. If I had a cam phone, I would've snapped a few pics of this guy wearing the jacket to show all of you, but I didn't. I dared myself to go up and ask the guy where'd he get his jacket, but then I probably would've scared him off, thinking I was gay...or gonna try to rob him of it, right off his back, ha ha...

On that day, I saw the this guy wearing the PERFECT jacket and I wondered what exotic rare store he got it from (Hate when that happens)

So, if anyone can suggest a really fine leather outlet, please let me know...

Thanks guys and girls.

I saw a few jackets fitting that description, forget the store but it's on Queen Street West between Spadina and John Streets.

Do you got an address of the place, so I know exactly which store you're speaking of? Instead of walking up and down the streets, trying to figure exactly which store and wondering if the store is the store you're speaking of, only just the jacket isnt showing in the window cause they rotated the displays recently. And if do enough walking up and down the streets, trying to guess which store it is, I'll be lucky not to get picked up by police on charges of suspicious activity...lol...

So an address would help alot. Thanks, bro.

Around Queen St there are places that will custom make you a leather jacket.

It was along time ago, so I don't have any addresses or names but there should be still places there.

I thought there was a few leather shops on Spadina, not far from Front... but then that was a few years ago

Sorry I'm not sure which store or which address, I just walk through all the stores on that strip once in a while. Your best best is to walk in and out all the clothing stores, sounds like a pain but it won't take long, and you will get to see tons of unique styles.

Thanks my fellow terbites girls and guys, let me assure you that alot of terbites, girls and guys alike came rushing to my aid on this one. I'm going to go out on the hunt for that smoking leather jacket that will make girl's eyes burn.

Does anyone else have any ideas of places, that I can add on my list, for my big window shopping spree, that I can check out?

really,
I've seen the best and the worst leather jackets.
you just have to try it on, as most of them don't or won't go with your body type or "look" that you want.

I was in your same boat, and almost bought a $500 jacket on queen. Then I walked 10 mins, and bought a better retro looking one for $80 in kensington market.

take your time.

I've always bought my leathers at the Old Hyde House. They have a HUGE selection, and many good sales. It's aways from T.O. but you know what they say...

Depending on your physique you may need to get the jacket custom made.

You might be looking for a jacket like the one Micky waw wearing on Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. Short motorcycle jacket with stripes down the sleeve. Short collar with a short cross over tab. Zippers down the end of the sleeves and cut flat on the bottom without elastics. When done right this jacket looks classy as well as rugged.

Unfortunately this looks good on only a few people. If you have narrow shoulders and a flat stomach it will look great. Anyone with broad shoulders and narrow waste will not look good as the bottom is too wide (bottom needs to look tight to look good) If your gut is too big this jacket is too formfitting to look good.

Here is another suggestion. Plain black lamb skin jacket. (thin, strong and very soft) No colours, no stripes. Almost a sport jacket cut but with the lapels a bit higher than usual. Just a few buttons down the front with a thick silk lining. Cuffs should be left open with a simple button on the end. Leather jackets should always be kept clean and classy. If you want flashy, go to chinatown and buy some thick asian silk with dragons or chinese characters and ask the jacket maker to use it for a lining.

You are looking at around $500 for a custom job like this.

wow - you sure know your way around leather jackets...you sound like a very good professional tailor - i toast my drink to you - cheers!

I'm gonna do my all-day leather jacket hunt this friday - and i'm DEFINITELY taking your advice to heart - as well as every one of the other very wise individuals that posted to my rescue - on this important topic -

i'll let you guys know how it turned out .....cause i know girls find guys wearing leather an automatic orgasmic experience! That's when they talk about how hot you were dressed and sexy you looked when they saw you earlier that day, to their girlfriends, later that eve, when girl-gabbing over the phone...

oh yeah - and they also talk about what they would like to do with you, besides date you and be in love with you, and fantasize about being with you and so much more...!!.

Since you are looking for a jacket to attract girls, it may not be good idea to cheap out on this.

Off Bloor on St. Thomas Street, across from the Windsor Arms Hotel, m0851, formerly Rugby North America specializes in leather clothing. The quality of the leather used is very good. Expect to pay about $1000 for a jacket, and the jackets actually do look expensive, but still cheaper than shopping at Gucci or Holts. Consider it an investment.
