Hello all, just wondering who would you recommend for a Pay as you Go plan (Telus, Rogers, Virgin Mobile, Bell, etc???) and second question is what is the best Rogers Phone besides the blackberry ones????? Much appreciated.
I investigated a Rogers pay as you go phone but it seemed like there were a lot of hidden start up fees, etc. I got a Virgin Mobile phone and I am happy with it.PurpleMonkey said:Hello all, just wondering who would you recommend for a Pay as you Go plan (Telus, Rogers, Virgin Mobile, Bell, etc???) and second question is what is the best Rogers Phone besides the blackberry ones????? I got it at Walmart but they sell everywhere. It is a temporary phone and I didn't want to sign a contract. Check out there site for pricing.PurpleMonkey said:Hey hunter001 and thanks. Can you give me the details as to the total pricing, cost per minute(?), and where to buy etc??? Thanks again.
I pay 33 cents a minute for my Rogers pay as you go phone. The best thing around Rogers is that they use GSM technology. If you want to change cell phone, just buy an unlocked cell phone from Craigslist or Ebay and swap in your sim card.PurpleMonkey said:Hello all, just wondering who would you recommend for a Pay as you Go plan (Telus, Rogers, Virgin Mobile, Bell, etc???) and second question is what is the best Rogers Phone besides the blackberry ones????? Virgin Mobile is running over the Bell Mobility network. Where a Bell mobility cell works a Virgin phone will work.preciate it said:I have a virgin phone. It works well and there was no hassle, no hidden fees. The easiest hobbying phone to buy--got mine at Zellers--and the cost is reasonable.
But it doesn't work, as speed ball explained, in cities with no virgin coverage. It works in Ottawa and Calgary but not Thunder Bay or Minneapolis, for example.
For me it's a good buy, because i don't go to the states often.
Ditto, cant be beat IMHO...and I like when I go to the States and the phone switches over to a new network it calls you (no charge), leaves a message and says "welcome to the United States of America" lol in fact im going tomorrow and look forward to hearing her voice again. My initial sim was bought on eBay couple of years ago when someone was selling sim with $100 worth of minutes for like 20-30 bucks. Great with unlocked GSM phones.
