Okay - we've heard about the best place for a burger, but what about the real artery-clogging, zero nutrient food like fish 'n chips???

I personally love Pemrose on Mt. Pleasant - or Hutch's in Hamilton.

Anyone else?????

There's a place on Harbord Street in Toronto. They make great halibut and give ridiculously generous portions of hand cut fries.

Chez Astra:

Hand cut fries, artery clogging batter on the fish, which is always cod, and plenty of salt and, as you Canadians say, malt vinegar!

Does anyone here remember Don's Fish & Chips on Yonge St. just south of Finch? They had awesome halibut & chips, and had been there for many years. But they closed up & went out of biz a few years ago....too bad.

Chippy's on Queen west......
Is that the new f&c joint across from the southeast corner of Trinity Bellwoods Park?

If so I tried it and found it to be expensive but very good.

I had some good fish & chips at a place in Port Credit - near the marina, south side of Lakeshore. It seemed to be very popular with the locals. I can't remember the name though.

fish & chips

Where in GTA can I get fish & chips wrapped in newspaper ? (and don't say England). there's something about that blend of newspaper, grease, salt & malt that can't be beaten. I'm just salivating.....

Nova has been gone at least 5 years, there's a sushi restaurant there, and everywhere else there isn't a coffee shop on Queen now.
