Place in Hamilton on the mountain makes it ,but I'll pass,
but I do like a nice Steak & mushroom pie with HP with potato scones , YUM .

In Kingston the best Fish& chip is the Pilot house on King /Johnson.

Where in GTA can I get fish & chips wrapped in newspaper ? (and don't say England). there's something about that blend of newspaper, grease, salt & malt that can't be beaten. I'm just salivating.....

Exactly what I was wondering... been years since I have seen or got some F&C in newspaper. Last place I remember was some 20 yrs ago (so for sure is gone now) on Braodview just south of Gerrard on the east side. Was a Newfie guy running the place if I remember correct.

My latest best F&C goes to Charlies on King St. just west of Spadina directly across for Co-Op Taxi. A little pricy... but you get 2 generous size freshly battered pieces of Halibit and a heap of fries. I always eat all the fish... can never finish the fries as they give way too much ... for me.

Foxbat - FYI:
England stopped serving newspaper wrapped fish & chips years ago - nowadays they are wrapped in an off-white paper. I still remember my mother sending me to the local chippie every Friday for 5/- five shillings' worth of fish and chips and if he was in a good mood, George, the chip shop owner would give us some pickled onions on the house - mmm delicious!
