best place to buy a jeep

I am looking at buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee and want to get the best deal. I want something either new or used 1 year old with few miles on it.
Does it make sense to look at buying it in the states.

It's hard to pinpoint the problem when the accidents in question are so far out of the ordinary and the NHTSA doesn't even have a recommendation. Any car hit at a stop by a transport truck going 65mph is pretty much done for.
