I have a layover at Pearson and looking to book a hotel near there.
Thought I would check out the SC and MP scenes. Anything in walking distance? I won't be renting a vehicle.
So either taxi or by foot.
Cheers.

Not the best area to be walking around. I'm not suggesting you will get mugged. Its just not a very attractive area. I can't personally recommend any of the airport area hotels as I haven't stayed in any. But a quick look at google maps shows us that 191 Carlingview is where The Landing Strip is located. The closest hotels to that are Hotel Carlingview (about 300 metres away) and Hotel Indigo (about .5 km away). If you are looking for something a little more familiar, Dixon Rd is about 800 metres away with the Marriott and Travelodge right at the corner. Quality Suites, The Westin Bristol, and the Airport Hilton are a little farther, but all within 2 km of The Landing Strip. So depending on what your priorities are (i.e. proximity to pussy or more luxurious accommodation) you might find any of those to be suitable.

Try hotels.com to see whats all in the area. You should be able to find a hotel that will fit any budget and get a little bit of a discount.

I've personally stayed at the Marriott Courtyard. Nice accommodations but a bit pricey. Cheaper hotels can be found in the airport area I would think.

I stayed at the Sheraton attached to Terminal 3 and it was wonderful. Windows are sound proof, and food was good. Also rain, snow or shine, just a quick indoor walk to to BA :)

On Priceline, I got the Delta Toronto Airport West (Dixie south of 401) for $57 US per nite for this coming Wed thru Sat (3 nites) .. but I have a rental car; now to decide who to see.

ALT hotel is linked by a mono rail transit to Pearson. Might be $99 a night. Likely your best bet.

No really familiar with that area. Usually am downtown, but this time I'm just passing through and looking to know what's a best place to use as a home base.
Sounds like the area is pretty industrial.

Ditto.

I have not stayed at the Pearson Alt, but I have stayed at the one Quebec City and it was quite nice. Same owners as the Le Germain (which is fantastic).

Alt is a scaled down Germain.

I'd recommend the Doubletree and the Marriot. As far as MP's go there are a couple in the area. Though not being an MP guy I couldn't recommend one over another. For dancers you'll have to take a cab. I haven't been to the Landing Strip in ages but I never particularly liked it. By cab you can go to CA, Loco, MI.

If you want to save your self some money on cab fare stay at the Best Western on Dixie near CA. Not as nice as the other hotels but a shorter cab ride to the clubs.

Sandman signature...nice enough place plus theres a moxies attached to it..nice place to get a drink and pick up a lady too!
When you say pickup ladies, you mean SP or civilians? I never tried pickup girls near airport. have you any experience? are they easier than downtown toronto or scarborough?
