True, however the price of gold over the long term has not kept up to the rate of growth of the stock markets. On the other side of things, gold is gold and will always be gold. Paper money my become worthless, but gold is negotiable in every country in the world.

stocks are too iffy, really if you need cash sell afew bars but hold on to it. US economy is going to hell in a hand basket, in a hurry. that gold is your best bet. wish i had more in gold right now. if you're going to sell the bars, use the money to buy gold coins. they have collector value on top of the price of the gold.
