Of course Seinfeld could've continued because the characters did not evolve nor significantly change. The writers of TBBT scripted the show into a blind alley.

Exactly this. I understand story lines get tougher to think of, and characters evolve a bit, but you have to stay with what brought you to the dance.

Does anyone actually still watch the show?
That's the funny part, I should dig up the old thread from a year ago where so many people were saying they thought it was funny, and the ratings were still extremely high. I'm scratching my head thinking, it's not even the same show anymore. I went from thinking the show was brilliant and hilarious, to not even being able to watch it almost one season. I kept thinking, how can anyone not see what I'm seeing? They totally changed the characters which is what made them funny. I'll still never understand what in God's name they were thinking when they decided to have Howards character get married. They totally went to far with Sheldon and quirks, and they turned Raj into this weird metro sexual guy. The show was no longer about geeks trying to fit in. It became about relationships.

I watched two minutes of the latest TBBT, I realized that the show is done. Sheldon catches Amy dating,it depresses him - the show is over. He's been awesome but the time has come for Sheldon Cooper to ride off into the sunset. As The Eagles sang there's a new kid in town, Jared Dunn has entered the building.

The "golden moment" that guaranteed Silicon Valley's future.

Silicon Valley is one of those under the radar shows that really shine. Californication was another. Really good writing, excellently executed characters.

I've watched the Big Bang Theory from the beginning and have been waiting for it to hopefully end, but I have enjoyed most of the episodes, even in the recent seasons. The Sheldon / Amy dynamic evolved quite nicely in the past 2 seasons and they're really the focus of the show now that Leonard & Penny are married and so is Wollowitz & Bernadette. The only thing slightly off-putting is how they've made Raj the butt of everyone's jokes (much like the comic guy Stewart). Raj had undergone a bunch of personal growth and even got a relationship, only to have him fuck it up in a ridiculous and implausible fashion (two hot chicks fighting over a short metrosexual Indian astrophysicist with no muscle-tone).

Now I kind of just hope it doesn't drag on forever. As for the spin-off, I'm not surprised some network executive tried to keep milking this cash-cow - does anyone remember the short-lived Friends Spin-Off Joey? (As though Matt LeBlanc could carry a sitcom solo... Even in his newer venture Episodes he freely parodies himself as a handsome dolt without much actual acting ability).

Jim Parsons (Sheldon) got rave reviews for his portrayal of Elwood Dowd in a Broadway production of Harvey in 2014. What made Sheldon great was his ridiculousness and he was never moody. I don't want to see a moody Sheldon, time to end the show.

This is the Sheldon I want to remember - a Supreme Being on Earth. He has a way with women!

This is what I can't believe. People who watched the show from the beginning and were cool with how it changed. To me it was a totally different show and not funny at all, so I'm always surprised there are people who feel the way you do about the show.

One of the things that doesn't follow about TBBT - supposedly they are smart, geeky awkward guys who can't get girls, but over the course of the series Leonard has boinked:
- Penny
- Leslie Winkle
- Stephanie Barnett MD
- Priya
- Mrs. Latham
- Elizabeth Plimpton
- unnamed North Korean spy?

The Korean spy was named Joyce Kim.

Why? Why would you care enough to want it to fail?
Apt.

The target audience for this show seems/ed to be the people at work that I hope don't feel like telling me what they did on the weekend.

I would love to fuck Penny.
Oh man so would I.

But only the earlier smoking hot Penny
Not the new lesbian-hairstyle gross Penny

That's the reason I stopped watching the show. She was great eye candy but now it's a bunch of nerds with weird girls who aren't hot at all.

I get around.
Just based on her stories, "The Debaucherous Adventures of Penny" (ie age 19-23 or 24; the 4 or 5 years before she met Leonard) would be far more entertaining than this Young Sheldon show. The trailer without a laugh track is not funny nor particularly interesting.

This is going to flop big time.
