Doesn't seem he was living in a cave afterall, but rather enjoying himself in a million dollar mansion near the Pakistani capital.

Well, he was a marked man for the past 10 years, so we knew the U.S. military would track him down eventually, and they did.

He always said he wouldn't be taken alive, and, unlike most who say this, he meant it. Navy SEALS got the honour of dispatching him.

President Bush couldn't get it through his head that you cannot use a sledgehammer to do the work of a scalpel. Osama bin Laden probably knew that once Bush left office his days were numbered. Finally the families of the 9/11 victims can begin to get closure.

Did they get Zawahiri or is he still on the run?

Funny I was glad they just shot him in the head. I thought, "Thank god they just shot him so we could avoid 10 years of some legal bullshit trial"

You know nothing of the details , yet you can not resist the urge to make political hay by slagging one side and giving credit to the party you support.
You already are giving credit where credit may not be deserved.

Do you not understand how petty and bias this makes you appear?
Do not understand how this underminds your credibility?

I guess thats not really a problem for you as you have no credibility to begin with.
And the Republicans didn't use "Carters" failed Embassy rescue in Iran for political gain?

In the laboratory.
Even in death, bin Laden brings misery: The price of oil is down. :(

Obama is going to address the nation momentarily!

I'd check dental records first.

Whose records?
Obama's?

I guess the birth certificate wasn't good enough, now we're going dental? :hand:

Just heard that bin laden was buried at sea. According to Muslim law, the corpse must be buried within 24 hours. The Saudis declined bin laden's remains. Expect more conspiracy theories to emerge.

Well Pakistan certainly gave him as much help & comfort as possible in his final days. Luxury housing near a military academy. I wonder if they delivered his meals or just sent the chef over.

"Long believed to be hiding in caves, bin Laden was tracked down in a costly, custom-built hideout not far from a Pakistani military academy."

My opinion is that the sitting President was not an integral hands-on component to the gathering of the intelligence.
Nor did he micro-manage the operation.
He likely gave the green light order that was not a particularly difficult decision.
Same as in any organization, the heads of corporations do not micro - manage day to day operations, however, they get credit for a job well done.

He likely gave the green light order that was not a particularly difficult decision.
Considering what was at stake and what could have gone wrong, that was not an easy decision.

Misery for who? I for one want the price of oil to go down. I think the death brings happiness and ease to the world, not misery.

So if Obama was in charge when Bush was, Obama would have gotten Bin Laden.
And if Bush was in charge when this intelligence came in, Bin Laden would have gotten away because of Bush.
Even if you had access to all of their intelligence reports, it would be impossible to make such a claim.
The fact that your claims are completely baseless makes you a demented idiot.
Obama wouldn't have taken his eye off the ball and wasted a trillion dollars invading Iraq. The could have spent a fraction of that in going after OBL and finished the job a lot sooner if not for that. Amazing how you can forget such a thing.

I wonder if throwing his dead body out the side of a helicopter should really be called burial at sea ?

I'm sure a great many Americans would have prefered burying him out back of the pig farm about a month from now, filling the hole with his festering maggot encrusted corpse and a vat of pig entrails, however.....

Tossing him out of helicopter with an anchor tied around his feet seems ok with me.

Feed him to the sharks.

He was a mass murderer and got better than he deserved.

Oh fark, even Harper thinks he's got something important to say and will make an announcement. Perhaps this will e he's last announcement on an international issue as PM.
It's okay for him to say something. This is good news for our troops and mission in Afghanistan. A sort of closure.
