I have bit torrent and i downloaded like a dozen files - now - i know wut to do with video format files - movies - i can put them therough a video encoder and they work fine ..and i can watch easily

But - I also downloded program files - like photoshop and games and i get a whole bunch of strange files with strange extension names..and i do not understand their purposes or where they belong - as they all materialize in the same folder .

With downloaded video files off of bit torrent - it usually has just one single file that goes through a video decoder - extremely simple and noncomplicated.

But with downloaded program files off of bit torrent - it usually has a folder with a large number of strange files with a variety of strang extension names and i almost can never find the single main primary one file that has to be clicked on to get the whole chain-reaction of installation and program running successfully. I once downloaded Doom Shareware for Windows 95 and it was simple enough to run the program after completely downloading it. I clicked on the main logo execute. main file in the folder and it was a successful install and the program worked with flying colors. But I also downloaded photoshop and some more extensively larger games like silent hunter 3 and sim city 4000 and i cant seem to figure out which one of the countless strange files i have to work with.

Can any bit torrent pros help me here?

Try burning a CD-ROM with all of the files that were in the torrent folder. Check first to see if there is a 'Read Me', or other text document included, which might have alternative instructions. Next reinsert the burned CDR, and see if you get the install wizard.

Extract the one file with the RAR or ZIP extension, that one file will collect the other files and give you the complete program.

If it's a BIN or ISO or CUE extension, you have to use the burning program to BURN IMAGE onto a CD or DVD.

I've got a dvd file with an .iso extension. Do I need to unpack it before burning? When I unpack it, there are two files: Audio and Video.

Hey guys...I installed DAEMON Tools program on my computer and I figured out how to click on the little icon on the right hand corner and "MOUNT IMAGE" then I selected the file "Tropico.ISO" and AMAZINGLY IT WORKED!! The Tropico Game Introduction Display Image Logo popped onto the screen and asked me if I wanted to install The Tropico Game onto my computer. I was exhilerated. This was the highlight of my day. Finally something was going my way this stubbornly frustating day. So I clicked on "INSTALL" on the TROPICO Introductory Display Image on the center of my display screen and the installer began to install TROPICO onto my computer, the percentage guage of the installation showing on the display screen. Then the installation was announced to be successful. So far, so good. Then I went to "Start" on the left bottom hand corner of my screen and scanned the program list and clicked on TROPICO - to run the program ..and i got this...

Then I decided to try something else. I went back down to the lower right hand corner of my screen and clicked on the little DAEMON TOOLS icon and brought up the little menu and clicked on "Virtual CD/DVD ROM" and then clicked on "Device 0:" and then selected "MOUNT IMAGE" and clicked on the "TROPICO.ISO" file again, on the list on my desktop and the TROPICO Introductory Display Image Logo appeared again and asked if i wanted to play the game and exhilerated once more, I clicked on "PLAY GAME" on the logo and then I got this...again

What am I not doing? I thought this program permitted a game to be played WITHOUT the CD available?

What must I do? Help?

P.S. Also, then i decided to try the same thing with another game I downloaded, using DAEMON Tools to try to make the other game work on my computer and this is the pop-up window that I got in reply, using DAEMON Tools to try to run it.

Again. What must I do?

1st Problem: If & When you extracted the files, there must've been an instruction .txt file on how to activate or burn the files. If not then just burn it to a cd or dvd and enjoy. Normally Daemon tools will allow you to play the game just by mounting it on a drive created by the software. Go to Daemon tools site, there may be a solution there otherwise try a gaming forum.

2nd. The same as above. Look again, there has to be a help file with the serial # for registration. If the latter is missing, then try http://astalavista.box.sk/ . Be careful you don't download any virus or spyware/adware. Always scan with an antivirus utilty before opening any file.

Hope this helps.

You don't need to unpack it. Burn the ISO directly. I like to use DVD Decrypter. Google it, it's free. It also rips DVD's to you hard drive and takes the copy protection off but I don't condone this. ;)

DASH,

1. Because of the message you're getting about removing the CD-ROM from the drive, un-mount the image from Daemon Tools.

2. For the serial # it is asking for for the other game, try browsing the contents of the image file to see if a serial was provided. In windows explorer, open the ISO designated by the new drive letter that is assigned to Daemon Tools.

Update on my previous post. You don't have to look for enter a serial. When you unpacked the files, there should've been a crack in there. Install the crack in the game folder. Mount on Daemon and you are set to go.

Got this from a gaming expert.

Macrovision, a Digital Rights Management, (DRM), company, bought the rights to DVD Decrypter in June, 2005, so that it could pursue copyright infringement suits against sites that were offering the app for download. For details, see this post from the slyck.com forums, or search slyck using the keyword decrypter:
