I use my Blackberry to monitor one of my Gmail accounts, and one issue has long annoyed me but I have not been able to find a solution.

Whenever I send or reply to a message from my Blackberry, Gmail bounces back a copy of my message to my Blackberry as if it is a new incoming message.

I haven't noticed anything in my Blackberry settings or my Gmail settings that can change this. Does anyone know of a way to stop it from happening?

I had this same problem...called Rogers and the guy there talked me through it...and actually did something from his end to fix this very annoying problem which seems to be a gmail-specific problem.

Had the same problem. Poonhunter's solution is the one that works. Set up a filter on your carrier's blackberry website.

You go to rogers.com/bis or your own carrier's BIS portal and set it so that messages from the gmail account are not sent to the device. This is because gmail does not use folders in the traditional Inbox and Outbox manner, but 'labels' which are quite powerful in the Gmail web interface. The net result is that every email sent from the BB via the Gmail account is treated as both an outgoing mail and an incoming mail and bounces to your device. The only problem is that you will have no record on your BB of sent items. They'll all be captured in Gmail itself though.

On my Bold, from the "setup" folder i can edit that, not sure which Blackberry model you have. *deleting/blocking the cc*
ooops forgot to post the steps

1) Log into "whatever carrier you use"
2) Under Messaging, click on “Set Up Blackberry Internet E-mail”
3) Click the Filters icon under your Gmail account
4) Click “Add Filter”
5) Create a Filter name. This can be anything, For example: “Gmail Sent”
6) Choose “From field” in the Apply Filter when:
7) Type your gmail.com address in the “Contains Field”
8) Select “Do Not forward messages to handheld”
