Memorex, Fuji DVDs = BAD!
Sony,Kodak DVDs = GOOD!
Right. Where do you get your information to make this all encompassing statement?

I hate to tell you this, but some of the Fuji DVDs that I bought were Tayo Yuden production, which are supposed to be second to none.

I've burned hundreds of CD's/DVD's of all different brands, even no-names, and I've never had a coaster...

I've had the same experience with CDs using a Plextor burner, it burns everything.
What burner do you have?

Hungry go to videohelp.com and enter the name of your burner in the
apropriate spot you will get results for different types of media tried.

I picked the one that worked the most and have never looked back.
How do I find who is the manufacture of my burner, it came with my computer, a brand, Cicerio, I bought at future shop. It has Intel and who knows what else. I have a company, Dell laptop, brand new. I used them in there today to download some data to give away and they worked. I can't believe that with such a commodity item, that some brands won't work in all DVD's.

Bandit, even though your burned CDs/DVDs play well on your computer drive, it would be interesting to play them back on the cheapie DVD players that people are buying for their homes. Like you, I rarely have burn problems, but I do "loan copies" of movies to friends and am surprised how often they have problems during playback. i.e. pixelation, black blocks and chapter skips. I use quality media (TY, Verbatim, Sony, Maxell) at low burn speeds (4X).
What's really surprising is that sometimes those "cheapie" DVD players will play a disc that a higher quality one won't....I've seen it. I've burned the same video on different manufacturer discs with the same burner, and a higher quality player will read one and not the other.
