Jeff Van Gundy, Keyshawn Johnson, Steve Young, Max Kellerman, Suzy Kolber and other high profile sports personalities at ESPN laid off.
Of those names, I liked Kellerman, especially when he was a young pup and got into covering boxing. Not sure what he's been doing with them since.

Does ESPN have any real competitors or are they clearly king of the hill?

We the people decided to watch-or not.
They shouldn't have injected leftie wokness.
Fuck 'em.
Well that's the same crap spewed by hardcore MAGA/Trump cult idiots about Fox fake news, after they rightly called Arizona for Biden.

Todd McShay and Max are the 2 ESPN should've kept. The ex-jocks are pretty bland/useless as on-air personalities IMO

When you pretty much only watch football (soccer) these generic channel of espn or tsn or fox sports are long gone.

For me its Fubo, Apple tv and DAZN that i care about.

ESPN is owned by Disney, who are going through a shitload of problems. Their movies are failing at the box office, they have to make cuts where they can.

They haven't gone completely insane, they've retained the services of "The Voice". I didn't know he called Lord Sweetness record breaking hr.

I just cancelled Fubo, with Serie A getting pillaged I may not resign in the fall. Signed up to the The Tennis Channel, Wimbledon is the most exciting tournament, I can choose the matches I want to watch. I cancelled DAZN, sent them an e-mail saying that if they wanted my business indefinitely they had to carry the road races (Giro d'Italia, Tour de France).

Ho I do the same. I took back Dazn just to watch the champions league final. I so much wanted Inter to win it for Italy! I canceled it again but will probably take it from month to month.

Apple TV is because, as crazy as it sounds, I really enjoy watching MLS football. But by god to Apple TV coverage sucks!

Longtime ESPN basketball analyst Mark Jackson has also been fired. He used to partner Jeff Van Gundy. Apparently, fired 76ers coach Doc Rivers and Doris Burke will replace Mark Jackson and Van Gundy, respectively. Go figure

Disney is taking out their tanking films on ESPN. As an example, they spent $416 million on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. For that amount of money they got paint by numbers baby shit fronted by an actor who can't act. Their latest film Haunted Mansion, just got crushed by Barbieheimer at the box-office. Barbieheimer has made a half billion dollars, in just two weeks, at the lucrative North American box office.

All Disney does these days is choke and puke.

To put matters into perspective, Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer cost $104 million to make.
