Finally, the Jays got their mojo back after the long layoff. They have been getting better each game. It's a good day when you win and nobody got hurt. BTW: Umpiring was decent tonight. KC also down 1-2.

True... but any idiot knows that you don't stifle momentum going in to the playoffs!
How's that momentum thing working out for KC? They played hard to the end. Their players may be tired out physically and/or mentally. You can only maintain that intensity for so long until it wears you down.

One minor detail. KC was clearly a better team this year. They should be ahead. Clearly something is wrong. They may be worn out.

KC coasted for the last three weeks of the season. They had the division, they had first in the AL. Then the Jays caught them, got on top with 4 games left. They started Buerle and KC was back on top.

Houston, after going into a big slump, straighten it out and play well enough the last two weeks of the season to sneak into the playoffs.

Houston had more momentum than KC, moreso after taking out the Yankees in their Wild Card game.

What the Jays had to do was win one damn game. Just one.

What the Blue Jays did this year, was amazing on offense. If you did not have a top flight starter against them, they will knock the ball around. After Hamels, Texas staff is kind of average. The type of staff that the Jays feasted on all season. Not sure why Gallorydo always faked out Jay hitters, but he does.

Jay have been favourites or heavy every single game this series. Toronto pitching and hitting probably better than Texas, but that did not show up in the first two games.

I actually liked the Fox broadcast team tonight. Reynolds knows his shit, and wasn't biased. And they touched upon all the things we were thinking (missed opportunities to break the game wide open, questioning having Price up, good ump behind home plate...etc). The other crew with Costas and Kaat were a bunch of donkeys.

Got junk, no thanks.

Finally the Jays have gotten the yips out of the systems, you could sense the weight getting off their shoulders when Tulo homered. Gaillardo is a breaking ball master. As long as the umps give him the ground floor he's effective - if not. The law of average comes into play again, Cecil is out but Sanchez is pitching filthy again. If Loup can rise to the occasion we'll be fine.

For Dickey's sake I hope the wind has died down.

Houston has better starters IMO.
Short series, pitching can dominate. Keuchel has been absolutely DIRTY in the post season and the rest of the staff kicks ass too. The only stumble was Kazmir in Game 2.

KC has a far better batting order, Altuve aside. But you know what they say about good pitching?

KC starters cannot match up with Houston's.

When we kill off Texas in 5, we get 7 games to figure out Keuchel and his buddies, instead of the 5 games that KC has in the ALDS. Gibby planned out well in advance EXACTLY how this would all happen. That's why Gibby coasted through the last 5 games of the season in order to forego first place overall. The whole "Start Buehrle" stuff - an incredibly brilliant smokescreen for his real strategy. Gibby is a baseball genius.

In the 6
Dickey vs. Holland today.

Dickey is 2-2 with a 3.77 ERA and 1.081 WHIP vs the Rangers.

Holland has eight career starts against the Jays and is 3-2 with a 5.15 ERA and a WHIP of 1.397

The only thing that worries me about Dickey is the first inning if he can get by that inning he will be good

I think all of Toronto took a collective sigh when Tulo hit that huge homer. When we grounded into the 4th DP (I don't mean double penetration) I thought that fate was not on our side this year. Hopefully that gets them playing loose again.
Since it's do or die again, Price and Stroman will be avail if Dickey falls behind. No point planning for game 5 or ALCS without winning today.

Both top AL teams are down 2-1 in series. so much for home field advantage.
