As much as I hate to see this falling apart, for those that truly wanted to go and committed, this situation is unfortunately typical of many "events"..... many say yes, but few show up.

In general, what is the solution to ensure turnout for future events?

Not much to organize...

I don't think there is much more to organize. The date and time etc has already been posted. Just show up. As for less then those that say will show... I have doubts. Maybe it's been like that the last few parties, (don't know... I have not been) but I remember in the past it was exactly the opposite. Poll would be posted 30 or 40 people indicate they are coming and all of a sudden 60-80 people would show. This happened at BR 3 or 4 times I remember. So far up to today 15 people have indicated they are interested.

The only thing left that could be done I think is... the first few arrivals should let some staff know where they are sitting or hanging out so as there is a area on the boat all could meet up.

Hey guys, I've tried searching all the posts, but I can't seem to find out what this boat cruise thing is all about. Can someone please explain....what is it for? etc etc.

I know I know...couldnt believe it when I realized I would be out of town that day.

I was down at Harbourfront the other night and saw all thses boat cruises going by..............Looks like a great time!

Okay - how about this...

To ensure that everyone would come - I would have a free party - then, I would invite only those who are actually sane. Maybe I would do that in a year or two - the only thing is, is that it would be held outdoors on a property that I own!!!

Oh, and I forgot to mention - that it would be nearer Hamilton/Ancaster area!!

It would be up on the mountain, so to speak. And no, no cactus!!

Each individual who commits, would get an individual invite delivered to them, then we'd have a catered affair!!!

Oh yeah - only a very, very few people here know who I am, so maybe it would be an anonymous party!! Nobody will actually know who good old Howard is, but will party for gratis

Okay - I am in the middle of buying property in the Hamilton/Ancaster region - I will be building a home on it - so, before construction starts - I could have an outdoor catered affair - tents, and of course, a band or something - this would take place at the earliest next year, so I will keep you all posted.

It would be pretty funny!!
