Body double

Have any of you guys/gals ever seen someone in passing in the street or in pictures on a website on the net that you thought for sure, postive, swear on the good book was someone you youself knew, but then been told later when you asked the person in question that it wasn't them?

This one has me scratching my head...I mean, I'm sure this girl I saw pics of online (regular everyday pics not industry pics) is someone I know slightly...but when I asked her about it she laughed and said it wasn't her. But if it isn't her twin sister or clone, then I am just amazed...not only do they look the same, they are from the same 'burb, are the same age, and went to the same HS and same college. Strange!

Oh well, back to watching Rod Serling and The Twilight Zone reruns fom me...

Mystery deepens...after having a dream last night about scenes from "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (the '93 version with cute Gabrielle Anwar of course) I decided to get additional opinions.

So I printed a face shot of the girl I slightly know, and printed a face shot of the girl from the web. I brought these 2 photos to the gym with me this morning when I went for my workout, and asked the guys if they thought this was the same girl. Four out of five said it was definately the same girl, and the other guy said it probably was her, but he couldn't be sure. One who was sure was a dentist who said judging from girl 1's teeth position, gum line, slant of teeth, etc in the smile, it was the same girl as girl 2. Thinking I should add a female opinion I ask the two girls working the reception desk on my way out...they both examined the pics and said "Yeah, it is the same girl".

So now I'm thinking "I knew it!!!"...but the whole thing makes no sense. So I look up the internet girl's number from the social site she is on and text message her as if she was the girl I know, making conversation. Internet girl replies a minute later with a polite message basically saying "Hi...I think you have the wrong number 'cause I don't think I know you".

...but 4 guys and 2 girls are sure they are the same girl looking at the photos. I even got a dentist explaining how they were the same because their teeth are the same.

Oh, I got a PM from a guy suggesting maybe it is the same girl, but she has multiple personality disorder/disassociative indentity disorder...in that she has two identities, and doesn't know she does. So she'll chat with me when in identity one, but not know who I am when she is in identity two. Maybe...I'm not ruling it out. Maybe I watch too much SciFi, but this is very odd...

Another suggestion (from the gym girls, not from Terb) was that the two girls were twins seperarted at birth and given up for adoption. They grew up not knowing they were related, and happen to live in the same city and have no knowledge of each other. Tis explains their identical age and appearance. So I casually know one twin, but saw the pic of the other twin and am thinking it is the same girl...different last names explained by adoption....but they are unaware of each other's existence, and only one twin knows me. Possible.

I have work to do this weekend so don't have time to ponder this now...but I know this is going to eat at me until I know the answer...

Update:

It is the same girl. 100% sure...asked pal 'Thomas Magnum sans red Ferrari' to weigh in. He says 100% yes and gave explaination as why it is 100%.

So I am not seeing alien cloning in action. The girl 'A' I know does not have MPD as a Terbite suggested, nor is she an identical twin separated at birth as the gym girls suggested. She has two identities, knows she has two, and wants two identities...and doesn't want me to put A + B together. The bit about texting me back as Girl 'B' and saying "you must have the wrong number...I don't think I know you" was BS. She knew me perfectly well, just thought I'd think it wasn't her if she played dumb.

Anyway, I'm not calling her anymore. If she wants to call and explain her mindset to me and apologize, she can, but I'm not calling either of her identities anymore. Balls in her court. Movin' on.

Anyway, when the World Cup2002 I saw David Beckham walking around town eating at a burger joint. the blond pony tail look with a stuble and shades. His best look before going bare back top. He got looks as you don't see few pretty boy blond walking in a sea of black hair.
Of course he was a wanna be Beck ham as he was in a magazine spread of a look out,plus he was alone.
Oh this was in Hong Kong by the way.

Sure, there are people out there that can pass for others...look at the SNL skit of Palin lol. I saw a guy at Indigo in Toronto 2 years ago who went out of his way to be a Brad Pitt clone...same sunglasses, etc.

In the instance I encountered it actually was the same girl though. The eyes may deceive, but Lexis-Nexis doesn't lie lol. Hard proof was shown me. I sort of already thought it though looking at photos...hence my original post...sun spots in the same place on the arm in relation to elbow, slant of the eye, angle of a certain tooth...this went beyond a mere similarity.

You are posting on a board where most of us have 2 identities and prefer to have them separate. I would say all of the women here do at least, while the men are more along the lines of people using a pseudonym.

In all honesty, I really don't think she cares enough about you to want you to know the truth and that is her right. I really doubt you will get a phone call, let alone an apology. For what, you said you only "slightly" knew her anyways.

Agreed. I did only know her slightly, so if she doesn't call with explaination and/or apology, I don't care.
