According the CIA (which I admit is imperfect when it comes to collecting data) the population of the U.S. is 295.7 million (see http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/us.html ). That works out to 2.98% which is less than 33% (I hope you believe me that 3 is less than 33). Thus my dumb post is supported by facts and your position is not.

Could be the fact is that most Americans choose to stay States Side, rather then travel. Such is life. This seems to be supported by the numbers you give.
