It doesn't matter where he goes because this guy is going to be sacked so many times, he'll realize that maybe staying in Green Bay wasn't such a bad thing. Remember Chad Pennington?

Jets fans have to be loving this upgrade, even if just for a year or two. :)
Favre is in the twilight of his career and will be sacked very often unless the offensive line receives a huge upgrade.

Don't get me wrong. Favre was a great quarterback and an instant hall of famer but I don't believe he will succeed in New York.

If it indeed...

...turns out to be one.

Remember, before last season (which was excellent), Brett Farve had just had not one but TWO seasons that would have gotten anyone except Brett Farve (playing in Green Bay) benched...

Personally, I hope he plays well enough for the Packers to get the conditional first round pick that is part of the deal...and not one iota better.

staying in green bay and sitting on the sideline isnt a bad thing? the guy wants to play. i am sure being sacked to him is better than being benched.

I have been defending Favre for quite a while now but he is acting like such a jerk. How many times does he have to decide to retire? I admire Favre because he is one of the toughest players ever to wear an NFL uniform and the talent to match but like I said previously, he is in the twilight of his career and I think that going to the Jets is going to be a bad move.

YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST........................

Brett Favre will fail miserably in New York.

Probably through injury but I believe Jets fans and, more importantly, the NY media will turn on him viciously by mid-season. The Jets will probably be about 2-6 at midseason and favre-mania will be over like a heart attack.

Also, a funny aside to this story - in the trade contract if the Jets trade Favre to the Vikings this season they will owe the Packers three consecutive 1st round draft picks.

My apologies. The Jets have made significant changes to their offensive line as I was not really paying much attention to the NFL off season.

I hope Favre does well in his new surroundings. I don't wish bad things on anyone.

Alan Faneca played for the Steelers he is a veteran and a 7 time Pro bowl selection.

Damien Woody was a Pro Bowl selection in 2002 for the New England patriots

The Jets have seen their QB's get punished for too long they got some talent now Favre behind the gun will provide the leadership. They went 8-8 last season i expect them to win 10 games in the soft AFC East.

Where do you get 8-8 from? They were 4-12, i don't expect them even with the addition of Favre to win more than 6 games, they will finish behind both New England and Buffalo.

8-8?????? They were 4-12. That's why they picked #5 overall I believe. 8-8 is reachable this year since there schedule is not a tough one aside from playing New England twice.

I am a huge NY Jets fan and have been since the early 80's. I read the news and just shrugged my shoulders. Listen, Joe Montana, John Elway or a Brett Farve is not going to make this team a winner. They have no running game, and average receivers at best. The did revamp the offensive line which was a sore spot so maybe this will help the other areas (being a Jets fan you tend to look at the glass half empty). Farve will not help special teams or the defense. The thing is, I'm not upset giving up a potential 1st round pick either. I look at the Jets drafts and figure the Jets would screw it up anyways. How many TE's have they taken in the first round that have not worked out, a 2nd rounder on a f'ing place kicker...... a F'ING place kicker.... I could go on, but I decline.

Yay Jets

For all the troubles he's caused by his waffling over retirement the last several years I hope he throws 30 INT and gets run out of NYC with his tail dragging ..... and proves the Packer management was right by not letting him screw them over anymore. Thank god this circus is over, let the NYC lynchings begin!

Great... well I guess my Dolphins may have another shot at the #1 draft pick.... Matthew Stafford or James Laurinitis? Or maybe even Chris Wells to back up Ronnie Brown, after Ricky Williams quits halfway in the season to go find himself.

they have no running game? Thomas Jones had 1,119 yards on a team that was 4-12!!!!

average wide receivers???? Laveranues Coles is average!!!!!

and their offensive line has been VASTLY improved with Faneca, wow talk about really seeing a half empty glass

You're pretty much on the mark scouser1. If they can improve their offensive game they look to be quite strong.
