Ignoring the 1st round pick (no financial implications), if the Ducks and Leafs were to exchange Getzlaf for Grabovski today, Toronto would be $716,351 over the cap.

The two teams work out a trade that makes all happy and you think that if it came down to it, seven hundred thousand dollars would stop the trade ? You do not think the Leafs could move players around so the cap works ?

I simply took the previous poster's proposal and ran the contract numbers. As his proposed trade stands, it is not doable.
